Is buying a fleet car as retarded as buying a rental car?
pic unrelated
>is buying a hooker as retarded as buying an escort?
>>17305854
that's what I thought
>>17305821
Depends on what it was used for.
>>17305861
what would be an acceptable use?

this.
Also fleet size really means a world of difference. If it's from a small company chances are they were a lot more cautious about hiring employees who wouldn't tear shit up than a large corporate business would be

Corporate uses, like only used for business trips, and also what type of company, did said company do the required routine maintenance.
That being said you won't know all that so its a crap shoot.

the dealers don't have records of any of these details?
I bought an 04 Ranger with 185k miles in 2009 for $5500 that used to be a Nebraska highway dept truck
Still using it as a daily driver now and up to 273k miles, a few things have broken but nothing major especially for the mileage
If you get a good deal I say go for it, but it helps to know how to work on shit.

It's a 2014 Jetta gli with a ton of features for 16k and under 40k miles, I feel like it's a pretty good deal but I don't want to spend all that and then find out that half the miles were put on doing burnouts in parking lots
My 2001 S10 ZR2 was used by a municipal department.
They did some weird shaddy shit in it but engine is spotless.
I bought a crown victoria last july for $850 with 180,000 miles. Grandma I bought it from got it used as a retired rental with 40,000 miles something like a year or two after it was built.
It isn't my main car but in almost a year I've had 0 issues aside from getting it up to part for inspection initially (small bushings, tires, brakes, cracked headlamp, etc)
I see no issue buying a fleet/rental if the price is right...

You're claiming dealers don't have the ownership history of the cars they're selling? You're wrong. I know the names of the last 2 individuals who owned my truck, and I bought it from a dealer.

>gli
>company car
There's a very good chance it was used just for that, depending on what the company was. Mostl because "dude bro it's a GLI thats like a GTI brah"
Man, there was a 1970 all original 70,000 mile Bronco some state had for a county inspector vehicle that I seen sold on an auction site like last year.

actually I was asking a question, not claiming

yeah that's what I thought, plus it's a stick which is also weird for a company car, but at the same time a lot of retards don't know how to drive stick so maybe it fared alright?
I'm only considering it because it's by far the nicest car in my budget
