It's wonderful honestly. Teaching a kid a (or several) applicable real world skills is something severely lacking in the US, let alone in black communities.

I actually have a few close friends raised by single mothers after the fathers died (old parents, natural deaths)

One raised six boys alone, made sure they all graduate and all made something of themselves.

The other raised two, both successful.

Fatherhood goals desu. Had my three year old son helping me on the car the other day.

Just putting on a new licence plate bracket as people keep knocking them off. Obviously being three years of age he wasn't much of a help, but he had a good go at putting the screws in the right place and torquing them down.

He's also obsessed with getting in the drivers seat of said car, which is a little bit scary but makes me a proud Dad that he's got petrol in his veins too.
