Anyone else fucking hate how modern cars drive?

They feel like you're sitting in a fucking bath tub, with the sloped windshield, and the raised beltline. You can't even lean your arm out of the window without dislocating a shoulder. The curved windshield, low seats and tiny side windows all make it so that you have shit visibility.

Not to mention all the fucking buttons on the steering wheel.

Why can't car makers just make simple cars again, manual transmission, straight up seats, and no bullshit buttons on the steering wheel? How hard can it be?

Toyota literally made the car everyone asked for. No buttons on wheel, mechanical linkage shifter, great steering rack, natural aspiration, light as a 240SX, good visibility, great chassis with low center of gravity, RWD with LSD, great driving position, no gimmicks, easy to mod with a sturdy block, cheaper than the 240SX or AE86 after accounting for inflation.

You all told them to fuck off because you're too cheap to afford anything other than 3k Civics, because you think you're entitled to all this plus 300HP for under 20k.

I like how they drive as far as chassis dynamics.

I hate the way the throttle, brakes, and clutch feel though.

I feel the same way. I will keep my 2013 Honda Fit for as long as it drives. After that, I will only consider buying a car pre-2010, preferably pre-2000.

Something I thought of if it ever came to getting one of these new cars was removing the infotainment system. It is kind of tricky since some features of the car might only be controlled through the screen, which is stupid. But that only solves one problem. Can't fix high belt lines and low visibility as easily.

Best to just avoid any modern car, with very few exceptions, such as the 86/BRZ.

The only trend I hate about modern cars is the extreme emphasis on safety features and tech gimmicks.

That's why I can appreciate a stock V8 camaro or corvette...one of the few models that isnt overloaded with shit

This is overall a good thing, but cars KEEP getting more and more expensive..modern manufacturing has learnt from decades of practice but they keep adding more and more shit and consumers keep buying more and more garbage; prices never go down. It's bullshit. more competition, options, and experience than ever and YET the price of a new car soars ever higher.

Not really, manufacturers have started learning how to engineer for new safety standards and the ones that give a shit can engineer around the safety standards
Like the new NSX has thin as fuck A pillars while being super strong and filled with airbags.
Eventually when that A pillar design is cheaper to manufacturer it'll trickle down to cheaper Hondas

The same thing happened with malaise era cars. Now days we have 600 horse power V8s that get great mileage, are reliable, and meet modern emissions standards
