would this be worth it if I could talk him down to 3.5k? I found sources for all the front end components adding up to 1.5k, what realistically else could be wrong with it?

Eh. Do it. Car isn't front engined so not really major componentry. Worst I see is some electrical problems from squished harness somewhere.
DO IT

alright, gonna look at it this weekend, selling my sti and already itching for bigger and better
>>17262404
tell us how it goes, i'm jelly.
>>17262377
thanks idiot, meeting up with the seller tomorrow morning
as long as you are aware it could end up losing a lot more value
for example, they often move cars like this around with forklifts at the salvage yard. Who knows what damage that causes

>called him
>pretended i just called him a second ago
>canceled on your behalf

Doesnt that generation have engine issues? Specifically, the ims bearing
>>17262377
Careful that it doesnt have any other problems in the axle or the wheel.
And check the engine

124k miles is a fuck ton
Guy bought it for repairs, so he's not completely dumb.
Probably resells it because something is fuckt or loosened or absolutely rekt in the engine or other crucial mechanical component
>"runs a little rough"
He could have even smashed the front to hide some huge mechanical failure on the rear
I wouldnt touch
>It's a "OP is poor as fuck, only has a laughable budget and wants to buy a Porsche without caring about the costs of upkeep" episode again

LS swap bro
>>17262873
Only a specific few production runs had like a 10% failure rate, the rest have about 1% chance of failure and even then it usually only happens to low-mileage garage queens.
Basically if it hasn't failed by now, it's probably not going to, and if you're still concerned a replacement bearing is like $100 and it's easy enough to swap out when changing the clutch.
It's a legitimate issue, but often overblown.

nah, I just dont give a fuck about a salvage title, so if I can get the same car for 1/4 of the price why wouldn't I?
