you spend like 500 bucks on cleaning supplies and make your car look double mint, like it just rolled off the factory floor. drive or trailer it to the show, apply some sort of instant detailer at the show and hope you win.

If it was a circuit event and best time wins, I see that a lot more skill than a show and shine event. Drag events to a degree, but with cars like a GT-R, the SRT demon and teslas, other than reaction time, its mostly what the vehicle is capable of.
