My 30min commute in Washington (1 county north of seattle) I was typically the fastest driver, going around 68-70 (60mph zone) in the passing lane with no problems. For the last two or so years I have become close to the slowest driver, cars tailgating me going 72mph and passing on the right/left going excess of 80mph easy. Ive asked state patrol if they could do any extra patrols in the area and said theyd look into it. I see 1 trooper maybe every other day.

Western Montana. They have totally fucked the traffic in my city. Huge, tasteless subdivisions filled with McMansions are constantly erected in the mountains and farmlands. My commute to work, which was 10 minutes as of 8 years ago, is now 35 minutes.

I do not necessarily mind newcomers, but Californians in particular have a puzzling mentality. They tend to flee California just to attempt to recreate California (especially in regards to politics) in the states they settle in.

Surprisingly you can find them here. It's one of the reasons I love AZ. You can go north and get into winding mountain roads, see snow, etc. If you go west you can be at the ocean in a few hours. Brisbane is alright, there's a decent amount to do in the area. Lots of nice beaches and coast north and south of the city, decent hills and stuff to explore to the west, but most of Australia kind of sucks with regard to things of interest in proximity. Cities are sprawling blobs on a map, spaced out apart from each other with vast plains and deserts of nothingness in between. There's not really much "get out of the city for a weekend" stuff here.

Our government style works well enough for us (people are leaving because of crowding because the economy's booming), but I'd be annoyed if I were in a different state and a bunch of Californians moved in and mess with what's been working for you.

Man I live in Colorado too. I remember being able to drive freely through Denver at any time during non rush hours, but I can't even do that now.
