06 DC5 owner here. 99% sure my Throw out Bearing is bad. I haven't the tools to do it myself, how much is this gonna fuck my wallet? 1k-1.5k?
Alternatively, if I have never done a clutch before, is it advisable to jump in? I've only ever done smaller maintenence/repair items like suspension/axles.

How many miles? Might as well get whole new clutch kit. I'd say 4-500 for labor

If you don't know some of the tools you'd need to replace a clutch you probably don't know how to replace the clutch at all. Take it to a mechanic

That's not an 06!!!!!

122k. Factory clutch. I was planning on replacing that as well.

That is what I figured, just wanted a second opinion before I spent that much.

This, don't do it without swapping that clutch too
A trip to Harbor Freight and a YouTube video is enough.

My TSX was like $1800 billed to Acura under warranty when they did the TOB along with the whole clutch when it started making whizzing noises at 5000 miles (only problem I had with the car in 9 years).
I imagine an RSX TOB would be in the same ballpark, but that was back in 2009 when I had this done.

Did they mention why it failed?

Dealer charges 1k just to drop transmission and then add for check
I did mine myself instead for 800 got entire clutch kit and since i found a good deal i threw in a LSD
Don't worry about it if it's just rumbling, it's not gonna hurt anything other than the fingers on your pressure plate, which you'll replace anyway when you eventually change the clutch

Get the tools and do it yourself

Hoe much time do I have if it is rumbling?
