Hey /o/ I've been having some problems with my 3g eclipse. When I'm in stop and go traffic if I give it like small amounts of gas it stutters and bucks. If I give it more gas or lay off, it fixes itself. I really want to find a way to fix this and hopefully not damage my engine. Any ideas?

Clean the throttle body
Look for vacuum leaks
etc

Was thinking it was something like this. Could it be a fuel pump on the way out?
>>17252447
I don't think the fuel pump has a problem since adding more throttle makes it better :^)
Knock sensor

Could it be one of the other sensors? the check engine light came on a little before this started happening.
check the ignition Coils
check the sparkplugs and their gap
check your sparkplug wires
is it turbo? check for vacuum leaks
does it stutter as if dying? or is it driveline slack?
how does WOT feel at higher speeds

forgot to mention if those eclipses have a schrader valve on the fuel rail check the fuel pressure
My Miata does the same thing

Manual or Auto?
8th gen civic did this after a couple years of ownership. No clue why it did that.

Throttle position sensor
>>17253132 manual, I just got the car so I have no idea why. Pisses me off since I just got it but then again I did pay a lot less than its worth either way.

>manual
Give it a bit more gas when you launch.

Auto. Does this in high gear low-ish rpm and throttle
>>17253083
I wouldnt really say it acts like it's dying more like it's just running badly. And with the throttle all the way down it seems fine the car does shake at higher speeds through
Might be an O2 sensor

Try cleaning and then replacing the idle air controller. It'll be one of the sensor looking things on the intake.
I had a Mitsubishi 6g that wouldn't idle well or behave in traffic but otherwise ran fine. After fucking with a bunch of other stuff, it was that part being stuck.
