I was looking into buying a used car and the sticky is old af so I wanted more recent advice. I want a reliable car with a low amount of miles (under 120K) for around 5K. I wanted to know what I should look at. I've found Saabs can be had for cheap, and I've heard they're reliable. What other cars should I look at?
I was looking at this earlier:

I should have mentioned I don't own a home and I have next to no mechanical experience. I can replace a cabin filter and add windshield wiper fluid. It's why I'm going for a reliable car. Also coupes are a no go.

You're no fun. My dd is a coupe
Get a used jetta or something if you want to be boring
>>17223339
Aren't Jetta unreliable / expensive to maintain? I would get a used honda civic but they're expensive for what they are.

Most Jap crap is okay. Best choice overall for poorfags.
GM engines are pretty nice, save a couple. (Northstar) Interiors and panel rattle are terrible though.
Ford is similar to GM, but slightly better.
Chrysler a shit. AMC engines are good though.
Kraut cars are expensive as fuck to maintain used. Don't buy this shit.

>auto
Nope. MK4 autos were shit.

I have an 05 and I love it.
Few things.
1 that transmission will shit out between 110 and 150 K miles if it already hasn't had work done on it. Manual is only way to go in the focus unless you budget tranny work into the price.
2 if you get an 05 to 07 you get the first gen Duratec which is timing belt instead of chain and still get basic good focus looks. That's why I bought mine over a Zetec
So, 05 to 07 with a 5 speed instead of an auto. The 5 speed is the MTX75 which is a great and stout transmission.
>>17225114
I'm retarded. Duratec has CHAIN Zetec on your link has BELT. Chain is superior.
