So I'm a noob. I don't know jack shit about car parts or restoration. All I know is that I get the oil and fluids checked regularly and take it in when the light comes on.
Anyway, I've recently come into possession of a '98 Cherokee, and I want to get it polished up and keep her running for as long as possible. I got the interior detailed today and I'm going to fix up the scratches in the next few weeks.
It's pretty barebones in terms of features (partially why I bought it). And I want to keep it looking slick through to the very end of its useful life. How do I not fuck it up?
Posting '90s jeep inspo too for aesthetics
If you couldn't tell I larp about being a park ranger in the northwest/northeast

Which engine and trans OP? Also do you have part or full time 4wd? I had an 85 with the 2.5L which was okay. Aren't these prone to fires in the engine bay? I seem to recall it was a fuel line rubbing on something; I needed to pull the wire harness for mine from a salvage yard and kept coming across ones with heavy fire damage in that area.
Are you in the rust belt? Mine rusted out where you'd put your feet near the pedals. Pretty practical vehicle, I'd like another one. Hauled a full size refrigerator home with it.
the 2 door ones are superior.
