How long should it take a shop to swap an engine out for

Anywhere from two days to 3 months or more.

Is the dead engine already out of the car? Is the replacement engine already out of the car? Is it the same engine? Is there any differences between the years of that engine? Like for instance 96s do not have a Secondary Air Pump but the 97s on do. Is the replacement a completely different motor that needs custom mounts, wiring etc?

Too many variables to say how long it will take. Anyone who says 1 day is stupid.
