you need to figure out blade offset, pressure/speed, limitations on your hardware as far as resolution/accuracy, etc. there's a lot of little tiny quirks in every machine/software that will trip you up that isn't listed in documentation, it's just learning to get around it.

in my plotter software I have this stupid bug where when sending a new cut job the whole thing will freeze and throw an error and I have to close and open it again to continue. At this point it's all muscle memory.

You've probably already figured all of this out, but for blade depth try to start at around half the thickness of a credit card protruding. Try force at roughly 100g and speed at like 2-300mm/s. Increase and decrease everything as you need to.
