Considering doing a rotary swap on my shitbox just because. Renesis engine and transmission packages go for $1500 or less while 13bs are $2000+ for the engine only (from a cursory search on eBay). I wouldn't be looking to boost it to the moon, only 300-350hp maaaaaybe 400 if I'm feeling frisky and it would get a full rebuild and upgrade before installation as well as the usual preventatives like premixing. Does the renesis a shit meme stem from the same general rotary unreliability Because no one knew how to into rotaries meme or are they genuinely that God awful?

you can 13b from an fc turbo 2 as well if that's your power goal, won't need studs/dowels

fd setups are more and hold up in the 600s without studding
port the fc turbo motor and at about 9psi with the stock turbo you'll be close to or past 300 (stock turbo flows like shit, throw a t04 on it and you'll be able to make more than you want)
a used rotary engine is a ticking timebomb since they usually aren't cared for
if compression is good just get the $500 atkins gasket set, some new side seals and reuse the apex seals, check the irons for cracks before porting, get a rising rate fpr, back the timing down and at least a walbro 450lph and crank up the fuel pressure. if the wideband says afrs are good under boost you'll be fine and just waste more gas under cruise/idle but you won't need a standalone to hoon safely for the motor
