Forza 6 has okay FFB as long as you're on recommended rotation settings, FH3 FFB is currently broken but Playground says they're fixing that in the patch that comes with the Hot Wheels expansion.

We know next to nothing about Forza 7 other than it'll have a bigger focus on wheels than previous entries and will headline Scorpio with H D G R A P H I C S, but expect a shitty port, because devs have no respect for the PC master race.

Also Forza isn't a sim you bumblecuck. Go play GTR 2 ifyou want a 10/10 sim.

G27/29 is god tier for emulators.
G27 has best compatibility, G29 has DFGT Dualshock-style button layout on a G27 chassis but requires newer drivers so it only works on Win7 and up.

G27 will work on Win98 as well as games released since that era like Monster Truck Madness 2 (with FFB!) and some late DOS games like Whiplash.

Overall a Logitech wheel it's absolutely worth it if if you've ever wanted your own arcade racer cabinet but wanted to play more than one game on it. Arcade games often have subtle handling dynamics that come alive when you play with the precision of a steering wheel.

I love racing sims but setting everything up means I have to be sure that I will not just drive a couple of laps.
Sometimes I just want to fuck around for a bit but setting the wheel and shifter up and then putting it away afterwards takes around 10 minutes.
I plan to build a cheap rig with those alu profiles so I won't have this problem anymore.

What is the minimum height for a wheel? I don't have a surface I can clamp it on without it being too short; I've got a short table, and the wheel clamps, but I feel like my legs are all scrunched up underneath and I'll bang the table from underneath with my knee eventually.

Would a desk that is 29 inches high do? IKEA has cheap tables that can be had for $25 or less that are that height. I wanna use my wheel but I can't ever get comfortable enough. I see people using their wheels all the time at their desks but I can't seem to find a suitable surface.

I'm 6'0" (with my legs almost exactly half of that) and i use my G27 with Thrustmaster T3PA pro pedals on that exact desk just fine. As far as comfort I'd say make sure you have an adjustable height chair so you can find the comfy spot.

It's shit without tuning though. I did bunch of events, but it's super hard to make it both fun and balanced, and tuning was the only way to make it truly interesting: this feeling when you're beating more powerful cars with your upgraded shitbox really makes the game worth it. Without tuning, it's just kunos built-in career mode except you buy cars instead of using pre-defined ones.

Frankly, i haven't got any really interesting ideas about events. Shitboxes, ae86 tuned (which was designed to be beatable with stock ae86 tuned by player), 200/400/600/whatever-hp events, e30 cups, dtms, tatuus cup, other generic ideas. And AC AI isn't exactly designed to handle small races well, you either have more power and get everyone on first corner or you don't and everyone runs away from your range. Not like gran turismo was way better in this department, but they had enormous advantage of seemingly infinite amount of cars in game, so you never know what are you going to get and tune. AC has, like, four weak shitboxes, ten street-tier not-exactly-shitboxes, and rest of the cars is race modded or supercar.

Oh, the twisty bit. Yeah I can see why that might be an issue since it's at a very slow speed. I wouldn't mind trying it as an experiment though. The few times I've done the track in single player races as well as GTR2 single player races I found it very fun, though I wouldn't know how that would translate to multiplayer.
