Hello again, auto. I made a thread the other day about my wrecked camaro. I just got her back from the shop and was given the okay from mechanics, but my oil pressure os crazy high. Like 85 at idle. Wat do?

start ripping the engine and trans out to shove into that other Camaro shell you found.
BTW, just to head off the morons who will undoubtedly bitch, the Camaro in question is a 1986 model with the 2.8L V6. OP is very attached to it so telling him to sell it for a V8 one will fall on deaf ears.

That's the plan but I need a few weeks to get the funds. Its gonna be 650 for the body and 900 to swap everything over. Mainly I just want to know if its okay to drive it if the pressure is that high?

bench test the oil pressure sensor and chase the sweet sweet electrical gremlins... or be prepared to drop the oil pan and give it a once over. the car may have been parked because of a clogged or otherwise fucked oil pickup, may have grenaded already, sludge-puppied, or any other reason.... do you have any space to work?

and for the love of god, do NOT get one of those mechanic in a bottle scams within 500 feet of your car if you want to keep it. those fuckers ruin engines faster than high melanin and low income combined

Oh it was never parked. I've driven or for over a year I just recently got into an accident.

hmm nvm i think there are dedicated forums for this. please just let us armchair diagnose a car that we cannot see or hear. just make memes kids

Head over to this forum for more info. They'll be more helpful than we can at the moment since they specialize in that engine.

Sounds like faulty sending unit or gauge. Confirm the pressure with another setup first. 85 psi is past the bypass pressure, so I'm betting this is it.
If it is really that high, you might have a blocked oil passage in the block. Try an oil change to see if it gets better. If not, not sure what you can do.

this. my money is on the sending unit.
