europoor here, I'm seriously thinking about buying first gen Suzuki Wagon R+, tell me why is it a good/bad idea
I only know the Opel version of it.
Seating position is like in a van, so good if you have back problems.
Obscenely much room inside for such a tiny car BUT it was UTTERLY gutless and the clutch had to be operated at autistically precision or otherwise the pile would stall at every fucking start from a standstill. It was so fucking annoying. You get used to it but why voluntarily endure this shit.
Otherwise quite ok car if you're poor I guess.
probably rusted to shit if northern europ
poor is the key part there, fits well
Get a Corolla wagon if you want this body type so much. What EU shithole do you live in? Netherlands here btw.
Why? You can get a cheap estate car that will be much better for the same money

what's the deal with this car
it's dirt cheap and seems like a crappy little thing
is it just because it's cute?

It does everything you want from a dirt cheap car perfectly (easy to work on, parts cost next to nothing, economical as fuck, super flexible interior), has a couple of neat options (cloth or full-length glass sunroof, multiple special editions and so on) and it's cute.

If you're on a tight budget you'd better settle for a Kangoo or a Partner.
Those are among the cheapest wagon/van you can get and used spare parts are plenty and dirt cheap.
garage gave me one as a courtesy car.
i approached a roundabout at a normal speed (which took a geological epoch to achieve) and entered it as i would in my passat. then my life passed before my eyes.
There was so much body roll I thought it was going to tip. the tyres were squealing and the steering was so vague that I wasn't sure if I could correct it without rolling it in the opposite direction.
needless to say i lived, but kept the car at home and took the bus until my passat was fixed

Well, I won't be the one who tells you what you gotta do with your life, but why not seek something safer to drive? An opel meriva, for example.
