Is it just me or was this car really ahead of it's time?

There was a lot of really forward thinking car design between the mid 80's and early 90's.
the Ford Taurus came out in 1985, and yet defined Ford styling for almost a decade
They used it in Robocop as the police cars solely because at the time, people thought it looked really modern and futuristic.

or the early 90's Caprice, which people actually hated back then, but now looks right at home alongside a late model Panther from the mid 00's

90s eldorados and seville STS/SLS models were some of the best designs cadillac did

This
It wasn't ahead of its time.
It was just more up to date compared to all other US cars.

You guys can make realiable and durable cars but back then you were HILARIOUSLY behind in terms of design.
I prefer reliability over design but still.

It looks a lot closer to a pre-98 Crown Vic, which still had the little triangular rear windows and rounded roofline like the Caprice (instead of the Marquis' squared off roof that was given to the CV in '98).

God I want a Caprice so bad now, hell I'd take a spic's donked one too, it's that desirable.
