Why is this car bashed in almost every professional review?

Why is this car bashed in almost every professional review?

I mean, look at this video for example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nn7oFoCG5I

Everybody knows that the Giulia is the quickest car of the lot but [THEY] felt the need to do the run with an almost out of gas M3 vs a full tank Giulia.

Why?
>>
That severely reminded me of this bullshit from autoexpress: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgO0ir7DPLc

Same shit but in order to get an altered result.

>4C full tank
>Not driven in Race mode (but in Dynamic instead)
>Cayman empty tank
>Tampered video montage

I'm not that passionate about Alfa Romeo but this is ridiculous, it's like professional journalists don't want people to know how good these cars are...at least when it comes to performance.
>>
>bashed

Literally everyone praised this car over the competitors. Are you on drugs son?
>>
>>17019774
Well this car was bashed even before it was on the market...

Here: http://europe.autonews.com/article/20160205/ANE/160209894/alfa-romeo-maserati-get-new-tech-chief-amid-product-launch-delays

This son of a bitch of journalist, Luca Ciferri (the irony it's Italian), wrote on frebruary 2016 - 3 months before the car was on sale - that the model was failing the crash tests and basically was a piece of delayed shit.

Pic related is what a full 5 stars on crash tests looks like: the safest car of its category.

Still, people believed lies and the car was unfairly bashed.

60 pounds matters little when comparing 3,300lb cars.
this isn't formula 1.
>>
>>17020019
Ok but still what's the point in doing that?

The Giulia has got a 58 liters tank and a full tank of fuel adds 45 kg of weight (1 liter of gasoline weights 0,78 kg).

We're talking about 100 pounds, it's like having an extra passenger in the car.

It does have an impact, even if small, and if you want to do a scientific comparison you have to test all the cars in the same conditions: full tank or with the same exact liters of gasoline.

Even if the Giulia won, the result is not valid.

The issues are garbage build quality and a shitty interior.

Literally these issues only happen in the North American market.

Isn't that strange? Why is tesla missing in the consumer reports charts?

Pic related is third world quality but why meme reports doesn't talk about it?

Hey but who cares? It's a quick car meme electric and costs twice the Giulia.
>>

Maybe because CR buys cars directly off the market so manufactures cant give them press ringers to test, and they havent been able to source a Tesla?
>>

Consumer memes charts are based on people opinions (hence why the name CONSUMER REPORTS).

It's impossible that they don't have any feedback from tesla owners.

On reliability index you'll find that they're reliability is on par with every other manufacturer, as in lords year 2017 must be because every car shares electric parts and not only from the same makers.

If Fiat makes such shitty unreliable products why didn't it fail? This is a mistery, such a universally shitty maker that keeps selling good worldwide...I wonder why people keep buying this shit.

FCA is the sixth automotive group in the world and it happened by chance, their cars and engines were so unreliable but who gave a fuck am I right?

>Alfa Guilia QV slowest around Boxberg track in Germany
>Compared Alfa Guilia QV to a C63 AMG S and a M3 Competition

Why didn't they compare the Alfa Romeo Guilia QV to a regular C63 AMG and standard BMW M3

BMW: Mit Competition-Fahrwerk zeigt der M3 weniger Lastwechselempfindlichkeit, bleibt länger neutral. Lässt sich gut über die Bremse platzieren. 0.45,5 min

0.46,6 min

Motor Trend tested the M3 vs the Giulia, at one track the giulia was quicker by a few miliseconds, on the other it was slower by a few miliseconds.

it should be priced the same as the standard c63 and standard M3, i.e about $10-15k cheaper.
FCA just wanted the QV to look more ''exotic'' hence the price increase
>>
>>17035814
Nürburgring and interior design say otherwise. So does the Ferrari-based engine.
>>
If every professional hates it, maybe they have a point

If you're so emotionally involved in the quality of the car that you need to find evidence to why it does NOT suck, you're probably wrong
>>
>>17035814

>I swear to god we are supposed to pay more money for the exotic factor

/o/ logic.
>>
>>17036664
But they don't.

Every reviewer say that the Giulia is a great car and very exciting to drive, at this point considering all the odds the scumbag reviewers proceed to bash the car insisting mostly on supposed "poor build quality" (which is absolutely not true) and memes.

The ones who have been paid more money also said that the car is inferior to the M3 because of the drive feeling.

In this scenario we have 100 reviews who say Diametrally opposite things and you know that this is fucked up.

98% people say the Giulia has a telepathic steering while the M3 feels artificial and nervous, but magically in the end the M3 is superior according to some of them. Why?

Having a shitty steering is a huge defect in a sports sedan and driver oriented car.
>>
The /o/pinions on this car, according to this board, are of the same level.

One says white the other says black...

>You have to pay extra for full leather seats etc.

Oh I see...Poltrona Frau leather + top tier alcantara is not enough as standard, isn't it?

If you pay more you get the full Poltrona Frau leather covered carbon seats.

This is another of the most pathetic excuses ever to bash this car...the Ferrari F40 had cloth covered carbon seats, I assume this is a bad thing for you, isn't it?

>good interior design does not matter if the interior has been poorly built.

True, but this is not the case as the car is well made.

>in many reviews it is noted that the Giulias steering lacks feel in comparison to the M3.
Also the giulia has literally no brake feel because of brake-by-wire

Every review states that the Giulia has a superior steering feel and a direct command while on the M3 I can read that the steer is heavy, artificial and lacks feedback. While this doesn't imply that the M3 has a bad and imprecise steering, one can say that when you use the word "telephatic" for describing the Giulia Quadrifoglio steering (note that the same goes for the NON Quadrifoglio Giulia) you're saying that the Giulia has the best steering...but you know, when you get paid/corrupted you don't have to be coherent anymore.

t. my opinion™

First link on google when searching "Giulia Quadrifoglio brakes feedback":

https://www.motor1.com/reviews/127060/2017-alfa-romeo-giulia-quadrifoglio-first-drive-review/

>Feedback from the brakes, by contrast, is stellar. They’re a little eager on initial tip-in but the pedal is fantastically firm, with very little give or travel even when you dig in deep. Like the best Brembo-equipped rivals, modulating deceleration requires only the slightest movements of your toes. But the brake-by-wire system has the same downside as brake-by-wire hybrids and EVs: at low speeds, like when you’re pulling up to a stop, the pedal suddenly feels vague, making it tough to accurately judge how much force you need below, say, 15 mph. It’s a small thing to which most drivers will adapt after the first few days of driving.

>Chevy more reliable than Honda
I think these statistics might be flawed. One thing that this graph doesn't include is the severity of the problem. For instance, there are many complaints about Hondas eating oil and wearing brake pads faster, but these are minor issues compared to something like head gaskets or oil seals. I still agree that Fiat and Alfa suck though. Also with Dodge it's more dependent on the engine type. Their pentastar and hemis are pretty good (which is why they are switching all of their vehicles to them), but anything else is trash.

The 500X is so good that it triggered the Germans in the same way as the normal 500 did, so that's why when you read a german comparison between the Fiat 500X and its main competitor, the Mini Countryman, you'll have a base trim 500X against a 50.000€ full optional all plastic Countryman with useless and countless gadgets so (They) can bash the Italian product where they easily win.

The M4 GTS (which is a race car stripped of interior parts to weight less), as stated here >>17042504 weights 1606 kg.

3540 lbs.

You're the one in denial.

The [Italians] are the first ones to shitpost IRL against Alfa Romeo and praise/buy everything that comes out from Germany, included their lies.

Italy was and is the only country where VAG group every month has a "+" symbol near the number sales after the dieselgate and also when it was happening...

Still this doesn't change the fact that every single reviewer said that this car is a masterpiece and would buy over an M3, also Chris Harris which is not the first idiot you see here said that the Giulia is INDEED faster than an M2 and M4 (see the fucking video) and you have the whole situation explained.

This car has been praised worldwide, even in the same reviews that in the end alter the final votations and lap time.
>>
>>17044581
The GTS was driven by a professional and it's a race car while the Giulia is a standar sports saloon driven by a guy dressed with a polo and jeans, he also did a mistake and lose time in the official video.

They didn't record and try thousand laps, they were ok even with the 7:32. That time could have been lowered.
>>
>>17044595
Not counting the fact that the M4 is a 3 doors coupè and not a saloon.

Do you realize that the M3 has a much faster and better DCT transmission with launch control. It helps greatly for 0-60 launches. Also the claimed 0-60 times are 3.8s for the Giulia and 4.0s for the M3 CP, it was a 0.2 second difference in the video, so I can't really see what's wrong here.

That's why in every drag race the Bmw gets rekt

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-4c6E77obs

In the video comments:

>Alex Ingram
>Funny you should say that... I was driving the M3 in the drag race - there's a noticeable gap between releasing the brake and the clutch biting before it takes off. We could've avoided that by not using launch control, but that would've made both the BMW and the Merc a little slower...

I liked it up until I saw one on the streets.

I was really hoping it would be a small sports sedan like an 80's/90's Mercedes AMG or BMW M3 or maybe even a 90's/early 2000's Audi A4 size.

But it was bigger than I had hoped.

I think he is right on the money in many things in that review, but I think it's bit unfair to bash that car so badly when most of the lacks in equipment have been addressed already in later production models. Also the car doesn't sync with iPhone because Apple changed it's directory system iOS 10.3 and navi hasn't been yet upgraded to take that into account. Not that I'm defending Maserati too much because I agree with Doug that it's completely overpriced for what it delivers.
