Which one of these is the all rounder when it comes to reliability, dependability and maximum piece of mind? Put the cost aside.
>>
All of them. Everything else is just brand allegiance
>>
>>16990641
We don't do that here
>>
gas pickups do not offer reliability, dependability, or piece of mind
>>
>>16990625
These days they are all excellent. The truck market is so competitive in the US you really cant survive if you make a bad truck.

In my personal experience the fords seem the most refined though. Ram seems like the best bang for the buck but the interiors are not as good.
>>
>>16990625

Chevy and Ford (I fucking hate Ford personally but I'll admit their trucks are mostly OK) are the best balance of capability and reliability. The Chevy is arguably a bit better for heavy use because of the fully boxed frame and steel (no aluminum argument pls).

The Tundra is autism in capability and gets half the MPG with less power than the 3/4 ton engines in the American brands. The only thing it has is pretty good reliability, which means nothing when it's a boring piece of bro shit.

Don't even talk about the RAM. The only time it approaches acceptable is a Cummins + AISIN. The electronics will still fail in it though. If you were only going to keep it for 6 years and could get a 6 year extended warranty for under $1500 total, then it would be acceptable, but plan on it needing warranty work at least yearly.
>>
>>16990726
Keep telling yourself that.

Ford obviously.

real trucks don't use push shit.
>>
The toyota will retain the most value. That alone should be a serious consideration when buying new.

But that has to be evened out with the cost of ownership as it doesn't make sense to spend $1 to make $0.50
>>
The ford looks the best and probably handles the best too.
>>
>>16990625
Toyota easily the best, especially best looking, surprising seeing their usual edgy shit. American car design is bad, they look like hotwheel toys.

Chevrolet.

If you look at it objectively it's the best
Subjective is another thing.

In terms of reliability I think they're all pretty good but Chevy takes the cake. Ecoboost has known issues with blown turbos and fucked blocks so if you want a ferd get the 5.0. Ram is just there but their motors are pretty stout.

Don't know much about Toyota but the iforce has been there for ages.
>>
>>16991491
>especially best looking
The only one that looks worse than the toyota is the chevy. Also the toyota has significantly worse MPG than the other 3 trucks. Basically the main reason to buy a tundra is toyota meme reliability.

Memes aside.. The GM will last the longest the ford second. The ford is comfier from what I hear. The Dodge is good if you lease it and give it back before it shits it's self.

man, the only thing i had to rebuild or replace rather in my F-150 was the water pump right at 117k miles. everything else was working perfectly due to good maintenance. It was also a 5L V8. I can't speak for the twin turbo ecoboost.

Unless you're towing often, you don't need a truck. Buy a hatchback or wagon so you have day-to-day practicality, car fuel economy, car handling, and car buying/running costs, and rent a U-Haul truck for when you actually need a truck.

Well when it cam time to replace my 2001 Chevy Silverado LT Z71 with 217,000 very hard miles on it after 10 years of use this winter I bought a 2017 Chevy Silverado LT Z71. I did lots of reading and talking to people to find out what would work best for me. I spend lots of time in the woods camping and hiking. I also need to be able to tow a 6,000lb boat and haul up to 1 ton at a time in the bed so this narrowed my search. The only truck that fit this list was the Silverado. I wanted to stay in the 1500 class trucks for cost and I don't really need a 2500. The standard 1500 Ram can not carry 1 ton in the bed. The F150 was built more for the road then the woods. The Toyota cost too much to live with. That left me with the Chevy. It was the only one that could do everything I wanted. Also as a matter of personal taste I like how the Chevy looked the best. I did not drop 50k lightly on a truck. After 2 months and 3300 miles I am still very happy with it. The real tests will come this summer when boating and camping season starts. If this Damn snow will ever melt that is.

I kept my 01 for use at camp for hauling rocks and trees. Still running strong even tho rust is killing it.

Picture is of my 17 a few days after bringing it home. My 01 is in the back. All the trucks I have owned over the years (Ford, Dodge and Chevy) always end up being black. I am a sucker for a blacked out truck I guess. But all the trucks I looked at came blacked out so that did not factor in at all.
>>
>>16996375
How does it compare, as a luxury truck, to the Ram and Ford?

Here in Europe, most of the trucks I see are Ram 1500, so I'd love to be a speshul snowflake and order a Silverado instead. However, I still don't know if it'll be good value for money.

>>16994607

Ford ecoboost on a truck seems like more of a meme than ecoboost already is. All that means is a smaller engine with a turbo to get back the performance. They also give a 25 gallon fuel tank instead of a 36.

Id say get the GMC version and call it a say. Smooth ride and best aesthetics.
>>
>>16997138
This. Couldnt say it better myself. GMC is worth the extra cash.
>>
>>16994651
I have a gasoline v10 in my 02 F350 & is at 341k running strong
>>
I go with the chevy.
The toyota will probably be the most trouble free under 100k miles, but its overpriced and not as capable.
The ford will also probably be trouble free under 100k miles, but you can't really depend on that. You should expect it to break.
The chevy is the same as the ford, except fixing it will cost half as much if not less.
Ram is lol. I like dodge, but after owning a few i would never by a chrysler product.

The new RAM rides better then the Chevy due to its coil spring rear end. However that is why it cant haul as much without adding airbags. And air bag SUCK on a truck. Maint nightmare.

I have read the interior is better on the Ram but I liked the Chevy layout better myself. But that is my personal choice. Ford felt cheap. It is very quite inside. 66db at 75mph. Well it was till I put a flowmaster exhaust on but even then its very quite unless you get into it.

Not sure where in Europe you are but if rust is a factor watch out on the Ram. I live in Maine so we get lots of snow and sea air. It kills everything on the road. But I have seen 3 year old Rams with rust bubbles under the paint. Not uncommon to see 5 year old Rams with rust holes in the rear fenders and cab corners.

I have been to Warsaw and I would LOVE to have my truck there. Would be something very special. Even here it stands out in a sea of lifted trucks. These trucks (shinny luxury trucks) are known as "Maine limousines".

Not a great picture

Why would you spend 50k on a boring sedan that only does one thing when you can have the utility and convenience of a truck? Most modern crossovers and even sedans are so fat and bloated that you might as well drive a truck. Trucks are pretty awesome on the highway plus the world of opportunities when you decide to go off the highway even if you only do it once a year.
>>
Dodge. Theyre what you see on the ranches in the texas countryside. King ranches for the rich fucks that just need a truck to drive over terrain comfortably. Still the ram
>>
>>16997229
A GMC is a Chevy with a $2000 bigger sticker. Trust me I just went through this. It's not worth the extra money. It's the same truck built on the same line. They are a great truck but unless you want that badge I would not spend the extra as you get nothing for it.

>>16997138
The Ecoboost engine has to work very hard just driving around town. You are always in the boost. I did not care for that. Also the Alu body is BIG money to fix if you hit something.

>>16999611
Not sorry
>>
>>16999612
>can afford the payment
well no shit sherlock, that's what financing is for, it doesn't make it a smart financial decision, you could have gotten a used truck for half the price that would have lasted the same amount of time
>>
>>16999642
When did I mention sedans? Sedans are garbage when hatchbacks/wagons exist, as I brought up in my original post. You get much better fuel economy and handling with a wagon than a truck while still being very useful. They can't tow as much, but most people aren't towing often enough that they'd save money buying a wagon and renting the truck when they do need it than buying the truck outright.

I wanted a new truck so I got a new truck. Its that simple. I have always had used. I have reached a point in my life where I can get what I want not just what I need.

You forget my old truck was an 01. I had it for 10 years and put 125k on it before rust forced me to pull it off the road. You don't have to buy a car as an investment. I have other cars that would be considered that. Like a 1914 Ford Model T touring, A 1926 Ford Model T Truck, A 1955 Buick Special, A 1999 BMW M3. I can sell those and make plenty of money. But that is not why I bought them.

I will never make any money on my 17 and I don't care. I will keep this thing for 10 of 15 years. Then retire it to camp and get something different.

Had a Silverado for many years and loved it. The only issue I had was some wheel bearings needed replacing after 130k miles.

That said, I went with a 2007 Tacoma 4wd quad cab and there is no turning back for me. I can tow everything I did previously (non-yacht owner), the suspension is bullet proof and has enough room for my family to go anywhere.

I know I deviated from the OP, but I was raised on a farm with Chevy's, and drove nothing but, but my Taco is the best truck I've ever driven.
>>
>>16990821

Nigger, don't fanboy over the Chevy pickups and then insult the RAM for GMs shortcomings.

Not only is the Silverado the most anemic of the big three trucks, but the wiring in them is garbage and all of the shot tier chink wiring will cause shit to short before it ever rolls off the lot. Their seals are garbage and by 50k miles they're leaking like a sieve.

GM trucks are trash tier along with the Tundra.
