4chan used to have much stricter moderation. A few years ago there were wordfilters that would get you instabanned. We just need a few of those in place and have a couple janitors who help get rid of spammed imaged like the Corvette/GTR lap times, Alfa Romeo, and a couple others. Tripcodes were originally meant for temporary use while you were telling a story or answering questions because you knew about a specific topic or question. They were never meant to be the equivalent of forum profiles; some boards had posters trying to use avatars and tripcodes to create identities. Since tripcodes no longer serve their purpose, just get rid of them. Report the shit out of obvious troll threads and shitposts to make sure they get deleted if the janitors can't submit them all. Even this thread got turned into a political discussion with a single shitpost. Just permaban these users without warning and shitposting will drop off pretty quickly. The only reason to use words like "liberal" on boards like /o/ should be in reference to greasing parts. Outside of that, political discussions should be bannable. There's an entire board dedicated just to political shitposting created because of board spillover, yet here we are a few years later with a worse problem than we had before.
