This. Your insurance adjuster will probably value the car at about 12k. So you'll only owe $3k to pay off, just pay that off and finance or buy out a cheap car.

You'll be relieved when you finally get rid of it. 15,000 is a lot of money and time to get paid off, just crash it and hope you total it. Then never make that same mistake again.

There is a huge recall going on now for total engine failure (broken crank). Be sure to get that engine swapped before trying to sell. Don't bother if you are just going to wreck it for insurance.
