I've got a decent savings but I was hoping not to dig in to it. I am getting $700 back on my taxes. I'm hoping that will cover the tow and repair but I'd it's doesn't I might have to get rid of it and get a new one

ok im back. the tow truck guy finally called and they apparently only have flatbeds which would not make it up the mountain. im back to square one

i went up myself to leave a note on the car and to get some things out of it and close the door because its raining.

i have pictures of the crash now. i apologize they aren't as exciting as some of you were hoping.

good news is i didn't see anything wrong with the car. the body is not damaged and the engine started right up.

while i was up there i met a couple who had been looking at my car and they insisted on helping so im meeting them tomorrow afternoon when they have gotten a better car and try and tow it out while i put it in reverse

today i am hopeful

I haven't tried this yet because I havent needed a winch. But i bought a 50 foot long 3000lbs tow hook and i figure that if I'm ever stuck in a woodded area I could attach the tow hook to one of my axels and wrap it around a tree in a near vicinity and use the awd system to power a pulley style system to aim my vehicle towards the tree it's attached to.

The front right fender is crunchy. The right turn signal popped out and is held on with tape. For some reason the left turn signal is the one that doesn't wirk. The mirror is surprisingly unharmed. I just snapped it back into place. Some water in the door from being left in the rain with the window cracked for two days.

Other than that I can't see anything wrong with it. It got me to work just fine.

I'm going to take it to the shop on Monday to see if anything else is broken.

It had 300k miles and its fair share of problems, something was going to happen soon, and it just so happened to be me treequinoxing it.
The plus side is it got me studying how cars handle and how to recover from all sorts of accidents. I'm saving up for an STI or a Forester XT now.
