I'm running low on coolant. I bought new stuff, but my car is special so it's going to take a week or two before I get it.
Can I just run on water until then, I don't have to drive much and freezing isn't a danger. It's hot though since I live in Arizona. Will it be alright for 15 mile max trips to and from work? Is there any long term permanent danger that this could create?
>car needs special coolant
>not just buying it from the dealership
You'll be fine as long as you aren't sitting in stop-and-go traffic
Coolant is cheap as fuck mate. Why can't you just buy it locally?

Because I'm autistic. I went to the local Firestone, but didn't have the right stuff. Thanks.

>firestone
But that's not a car dealer.

Just top it off with distilled water from any grocery store, drug store, walmart, etc.
Coolant is anti-freeze, meaning it stops the water in your system from freezing, because water expands when it freezes and destroys things like radiators, engine blocks, etc. Winter is over, your engine isn't gonna freeze.
I've always run 100% distilled water in Phoenix and I've never overheated. My truck is the only engine I run a coolant mix in and that's just because I take it up North a few times a year.

Didn't know I could do that. Had it at 50/50 since I used to live up north and figured it should be like that here too. Thanks will remember.
If you use water, make sure that you use distilled water that comes in the gallon jugs.
If it isn't distilled, then you can have rust problems.
If your radiator is a little rusty you can always put in some radiator rust remover when they flush the system at firestone.
Also what fucking firestone doesn't have fucking green coolant?

Sorry, rust remover with the water and then have them do the flush for the proper coolant.

I think the stuff's blue, but I couldn't take a good look at it since it's too low. I could probably stick a napkin in there and double check and get back to you.
