Only once. It was maybe a month or two after I got it, and I was still on shitty tires that came with it. Pic very related. Went too fast around a corner and understeered into a Mercedes. I took full at fault but refused to let them total the car, and just drove with a fucked bumper till I found that one for like, $80. The fender was some Mexican in a Charger backing up at a red light into me as I was passing by them, and then being an idiot, I didn't get a police report, he lied to the insurance, and they refused to pay out to fix it. Wasn't worth the time pursuing it further, so I ended up getting that from the same guy I got the bumper. I got the other side fender as well, but the one that was on there wasn't damaged enough to warrant replacing it.
As for paint, I'm considering praying it, otherwise, nah. I never wanted a convertible to be honest, and only got it because I didn't wanna go 2-3 hours away in my dads falling apart '84 Bronco 2 just to LOOK at any others, that were also double to triple the price of this one. So I settled, and decided I'd keep repairs to it to a minimum if something happened, and try to save up for a hardtop version, and save this one for my gf when she moves to the states.

I use a 05 Celica for my work commute. It gets around 32mpg on the freeway so not bad for a work commute car. But my weekend car is a 2016 Hellcat. Having a shitbox for just driving to work saves me from racking up a shit ton of miles on my Hellcat.

Honestly, grip wise, at least in stock form, it's mediocre to average, at best. But I'd say the biggest problem that makes it unpredictable is how badly weighted the power steering is. Before this I had an '88 Corsa A (in the end I found way too much rust to be salvageable), which is the same chassis with a different shell. It had no PAS and only slightly uprated shocks. While grip didn't improve much, the car was stupidly easy to read, just from the steering touch alone I could tell exactly how much grip I had, and know when to slow down. In fact, depowering the steering rack is on my to-do list, and quite frankly why do you need PAS on a 850kg car?

Took a look at the thread, liked how he spoke about the car losing grip on the rain at 15kph. The actual limit is a little bit higher.
There's this decently sized roundabout close to me (just checked on google maps, around 30 meters wide). When I drove the A in it, in the rain it would start to lose traction at around ~50kph. Granted, it wasn't the base model, 1.3 GT (Nova SR in the UK) with stiffer suspension and 165 tyres (although debatable if wider tyres aren't actually worse in wet), but anyway, since the car was so easy to read, I could sense it gradually losing grip before getting out of control, and correct it accordingly before it did.
Haven't tried the same roundabout speeds with the B yet. I value knowing where the limits are above trying it faster in the next go, and I don't trust it if I can't tell what the wheels are doing yet.
