if we're talking new cars, Skoda Rapid 1.6TDI is the best all-round taxi car.
if we're talking used cars then probably a Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI or 1.6TDI, depends on ur budget.
If we're talking city uber, petrol power, the Skoda Rapid 1.2TSI as new car ( used ones are shit - the 1.2TSI was a nasty engine in the beginning ), or some w/e Fabia wagon.

The Rapid and the Seat Toledo are currently dominating the regular taxi scene, and both of them get special offers for taxi drivers. The Rapid is cheaper tho.

Holden Maloo in Australia is probably the choice for uber. Cheap, reliable and (relatively) comfortable for passengers. Couldn't pull the skin off a custard, but it's not like you need that for a town car.

...ok well, I've been applying for check-out chick jobs for half a year with no luck because i'm a turbo beta and screw up interviews.
I'm also going away in a month and then again in 5 so no one will want to hire me anyway.
So I see Uber as an easy way to get an income, can work when I feel like it and not have to jump through the hoops of the application and interview process. And i'm hoping to get a normal job when I get back the second time.
And I don't live in the US. idk what crappy money you'd earn there but from what I read, here, you can average a reasonable amount above minimum after taking expenses into account.

You can always go for a cheap car one year away from the age limit, but the running costs and depreciation is going to fuck you up.

Unfortunately there's hardly any skodas in my area (or most of the cars mentioned in this thread)
Well there's a few but out of my price range.
I don't really want to spend more than 6-7k so I suppose small cars are my only real option
