The only objective benefits of a truck based SUV is towing capacity and off-road capability. In most instances, minivans can seat more passengers, have more leg room, have more cargo room, handle better, and are more comfy both in seats and suspension.
Minivans > SUVs.

Here is a brand new 8 passenger Pacifica. I highly doubt there is a similarly priced SUV that can match it's specs in passenger room, amenities, and fuel economy.
