Their repair costs are nothing unusual in the industry. It will always be cheaper to DIY or pay a friend to do repairs. I'm saying that their first party repair services are in line with others. I've had my MacBook for almost 9 years now and it still works great.
I've had to do some basic fixes like replacing the battery and the cooling fan, but they were super easy and the parts were cheap.

Mercedes builds several of the best cars in the world (S-class, military G-wagons, 18-wheelers, their F1 program, etc) and Audi kinda just sticks with their program, never really changing anything. But back to BMW. They don't have a true flagship (same with Apple, they don't produce any sort of a $5000 PC or some sort of super exclusive phones. It's all sort of very polished but still run-of-the-mill hardware for everyman, rich and poor. Apple and BMW have managed to snag that 'attainable symbol of affluence' that says 'i may or may not have money but i can at least afford this one piece of shiny shit'.

Only the bottom 2 are actually related. People always say the Beetle was based on the Golf, while while technically true, it's not the whole truth. The truth is the Beetle was based on the Audi TT. The floorpans of FWD TT's and Beetles are identical, and the subframes are even interchangeable. The subframes of the bug and Golf are not interchangeable. Close but no cigar. VWVortex found this out when building the Super Beetle concept for SEMA (pic related). But the subframe from an Audi TT-RS bolted right up, allowing them to complete the AWD conversion. BTW, the trunk floorpan of the Beetle needs to be swapped with one from either a TT or a Golf R for a working AWD swap.

I have literally 40 phones. I review phones for a living. I'm typing this on an HTC 10 which I personally like over ever other phone right now.

Regardless, Apple's SoC division is unquestionably ahead of everyone else in the industry. Their iPad Pro speaker setup is unparalleled in the industry. Their displays are some of the best calibrated and actually have RGB stripe with good viewing angles unlike SAMOLED.

Talk to anyone working in the industry and they will concede Apple has excellent engineering. Their design may be locked down bullshit and their MacBook Pro wildly overpriced, but their engineering is unquestionably good.
