Thoughts on WRX wagon vs WRX STI sedan?
wagon has more room, less cop baity and praticality but is the weaker 5 speed gearbox and engine.
STI sedan is cop baity, better engine and 6 speed but not as practical.
i've had a 5 speed subarinos and other 5 speeds in the past and on freeways an extra gear would go a long way rather than dying with the engine at 3,000rpm at 80 let alone the ear rape of 4,000-5,000 at 110.
any owners of either?

Pajeroo 2.5 diesel, needs shifter seals because one is torn and pouring gearbox oil out the top, timing belt + crank seal because the cunt who did it last time didn't do it right and it's pissing oil out there as well, and a clutch master cylinder.

I also want to check my injector timing since it has the symptoms of being a bit retarded, but that requires buying a dial gauge and fucking around with the pump, which is the one thing I'm not confident about touching on it.

It's plenty strong enough for regular use. The issue is that the boyracer who owned it prior thrashed it on the regular, peeling out of 7-11 car parks and Maccas drive-thrus and racing riced out Civics at the lights.

You'll still face the same issues with an abused STi.

These are also benefits. It isn't a track car, but a fun daily, right? It certainly has practicality, and as long as you've got a reasonable exhaust coppers won't be looking twice at a wagon. The front gives it away, though. If you want absolute stealth do a FMIC conversion and replace the scooped bonnet with that off a standard Impreza. But that shouldn't be necessary.

I don't know about the Straya market but in north american it's a tough choice.

The WRX has the newer motor but misses on some of the extras the STI has, although the WRX is much cheaper and more abundant also the dealers don't act like they're made from gold like the STI.

In north america if you're buying one of these cars the STI is almost worth buying for the extra resale value alone, I know someone who just bought a new WRX, nice car. I don't think the gap between WRX and STI has ever been closer
