What's the best cheap-ish OBDII Bluetooth adapter that won't fry my ECU?
Pic related, it's the cheapest one straight from the Torque wiki page.

Then get it nigga.
I have one that looks like that and it works. There's also a thread for stupid questions that don't deserve a thread, as in, literally yours.
Saged.

>>16898696
why do you millenials need everything to be wireless?
>>
>>16898964
Yeah why doesn't he just go through the effort of wiring up every gauge he can possibly think of and also run wires to the OBD2 port. God forbid he just wants to read ECU values without some retard making bizarre criticism of him.
>>
>>16898696
i got exactly this one, it was reading engine rpm and nothing else
>>
>>16898982
That was autistic. Im thinking why not a wired version instead of these shitty spotty bt versions

If you ever wonder why you have just one friend. This is it.

>>16899008
And did you get another one that worked?

>>16899211
Because my phone has only one USB connector which is already occupied? Because I don't want to go trough the trouble of getting the cable from the OBDII port to the phone cradle?

I have one of these and it hasn't given me any shit yet.

Works well with torque pro too.

my chinese obdii scanner doesn't work in my car, but works in my friends car, so it's a gamble.
>>
>>16899336
Yeah this one's good.
>>
>>16899607
reminder that obdii compliance is only mandatory since like 2001 for petrol and 2004 for diesel engines in europe, my chinkshit one used to work on my 2002 dieselbox though

no idea if there are laws for that in 'merica
>>
>>16899659
Didn't know that. Though, the odd part was that it didn't work on my 03 diesel vw, while it did work on his 03 diesel audi.
>>
>>16899336
I use this one, it works great.
>>
>>16899659
it's 1996 in the USA
>>
>>16899706

Mandatory in 1996? Nice. I'm usually a hater for electronics in cars but OBD alone justifies having an ecu(but fuck counting lights and using paperclips)
>>
>>16899336

I have one that looks like that but with the blue and orange sticker and it worked great with torque pro. I just bought one of those little blue ones since its smaller hope it works just as good. Gonna remove sticker and paint it black because its ugly as sin.

What about these "Konnwei" adapters? They seem pretty small which is nice since I can leave them connected.

>leave bt engine computer injection which can be paired with any smartphone through secret code 1234 always connected

i'm not entirely sure if it's good idea. if adapter has any input capabilities (as opposed to only reading sensors/other data), it's possible that it's potential security hole
>>

>Implying the Windows running, bluetooth capable, always on, 7years old computer in my car isn't a security hole...

Tho it should power off when you remove your key, shouldn't it?
>>
>>16900658

I believe it stays on. I used to leave mine in and I'm pretty sure the light stayed on with the keys out and I remember someone saying one killed his battery overnight.
