I've got a car like this that my dad is most likely going to be giving me at some point.
it's an 87 Sport Coupe with a swapped I-ROC 350. we fixed it up together
is it worth being excited about? it's got some pretty good power and everything but the 350s are all automatics. should I try to get something different or will this be a good, fun car? I've heard they can be good drifters but I have no idea
side note, it had an edelbrock carb but my dad took it out and put in an economy carb. is it worth it to switch back?

Drop a manual in it and you'll have a more immersed driving experience. They're fun cars anon
>>

>built car with dad
>getting that car for free
>complains about transmission
>wants to drift it
>considers selling it for something else
>wants /o/'s advice.

Well you made it really obvious that you do not give a single fuck about the well being of the car or yourself and have no regard for the work you and your dad put into it, sooooo, if it doesn't have any sentimental value to you, do whatever you want.

You are not ready to be driving anything let alone something of value.

that car would be WAY faster if you utilized a grip-first philosophy...
>>
sell it and get a better car

if you dump about 10k into it, it's going to be stupid fun. T6060 tranny w/ bellhousing for the 350. 8.8 inch rear end. a couple grand in the suspension to go fuck all stiff ride. get vortec heads and cam and plop them in. profit.

Considering the Z28 model beat a Porsche 928S around some track in Virginia according to Motorweek in 1984 and the IROC-Z can pull up to 0.91Gs on a skid pad, yeah I'd sure as shit keep it.

Keep that beautiful bitch anon, but take care of it. My bro had an 84 z28 and even with an auto it was still a wicked car. He actually had 2 but he ended up selling both of them.
