>Mostly because Europe is more stringent

not true, american volume requirements are lower for starters which is why every superbike makes less power in the USA than it does in the EU, the most egregious of which is usually the yamaha R1 which sometimes drops close to 20 hp on arrival to the USA, that drop is what the famous zx-10r Gen 4 wire mod reversed for example.

kit kat, mane, you need to educate yourself before you try and educate others.

It was big in the countries I checked. It's foolish to think literally the least expensive way to race is not competitive on a continents with a pretty big wealth disparity, and a huge affinity for motorcycles.

also you're wrong again about flat track anyway, it's not the same, the rest of the world (especially EU and AU) likes SPEEDWAY and dirt track and they do it on either dirt bikes like 450s or speedway bikes.

America is the only country that does it on the harleys and what not which is what your point was and again, that's only relevant to the USA really.

>mfw he's actually right
Kek I still love the bike though
>>
>>16892631
I hated everything if I'm honest, chief is obviously the suspension. The 09 just wallowed up and down like a waterbed, obviously the fork is aids but the rear shock is worse.

2nd was the gearing and engine characteristics, the bikes is undergeared stock IMO, 1st gear is way too short and the throttle makes it very silly to use with no clutch at low speed anyway.

The engine is designed to make "monster torque" and all that but because of that feels totally anemic up top, it gives you this big literbike like hit at the bottom then peters off to a sub 600 feel up top which is not very satisfying imo.

3rd is the ergonomics, I hate the seat, I just want a mostly flat seat I can move about on and the bike is aggressively, almost motard-ishly upright which is not my style.

The MT-07 in comparison, I prefer the engine greatly, it's got this great rideability to it, the throttle response is great, the engine feels like it has really light internals and the sound is awesome, I'd really like the MT-07 as a commuter bike for lane splitting and blasting out the traffic and what not while I wouldn't like the MT-09 for that at all.

So it comes down to .

I like to ride the MT-07 at low speed, I wouldn't like it at high speed.

I don't like the MT-09 at low speed, I wouldn't want to ride it at high speed.

So I'd rather the 07 if I'm forced at gunpoint to own one.

Will lowering my tire pressure get me better lean angles?
>>
>>16892884
probably not but depending on the bike, tyre, pressure, temperature etc. it could give you nicer grip which may facilitate it.

check your brain pressure not your tyre pressure first though.
>>
>>16892884
It depends on what the tires are, what the pressures currently are, what the pressures are when the tires are hot (actually hot, and measured immediately), what environment you're riding in, what bike, what suspension set up it goes on and on. tldr maybe but unless youre running a much too high pressure its unlikely you will feel any meaningful difference on street

>>
>>16892930
yeah you'll be fine, whatever pressure doesn't matter really. 33-36 front rear is a good starting point.

>>16892958
Saved for future studying this weekend.

But it's a good start, the description of the SR really helped me move forward and work on issues I had with cornering confidence.
>>
>>16892966
I like the SR's part of twist of the wrist, it helped me out a lot when I was a noob I'm not gonna lie.

but a whole lot of the other stuff just kind of limits you when you get along a bit with your riding, the way it teaches you to brake is a big one, so confusing and skimmed over is it in totw 2 that he had to make this whole interview later to clarify it than kind of contradicts totw 2 .

http://www.motomom.ca/keith-code-on-trail-braking-exclusive-interview/

Also the attention paid to "running wide" if you let off the throttle at all makes noobs think they literally can't reduce the throttle while cornering or they're not gonna make it. 90% of the lowsides I see are people rolling the throttle on while increasing lean angle because muh once the throttle is cracked etc.

You just need to start ignoring a lot of the stuff in totw 2 eventually.

Muh dick

>>16893022
Yeah I felt that. It depends in your bike though a lot. My cx500 had very little torque, so it was good to "preload" the throttle a little bit whenever possible so that I could roll on as I approached and passed the apex. Not enough to accelerate, but enough to have a smooth roll on and not shock the drivetrain.

With my fz6, the throttle mapping gives it a really snatchy throttle when you first get back on it, or at least I believe it is due to the nature of fuel injection. I'm much more comfortable slightly cracking the throttle than experiencing a jolt to the system like just getting back on it is.

Serious talk here. How do I do a U turn.

I've been told you should be able to do one in the width of two parking stalls.

Do I need to be going a certain speed? Back brake or no back brake. Do I immediately lock my bars over? Do I just look over my shoulder and expect my bike to follow?

>how do I do a u-turn

fast idle, slip clutch, drag rear brake, head on shoulders so you can look toward your exit and release a little more clutch or rear brake if you think the bike is gonna drop because the power will pick it up.

That's the simplified version but I've posted the more complex version more times than I care to count.

http://archive.4plebs.org/o/thread/16638134/#16639838

http://archive.4plebs.org/o/thread/16652217/#16653391

http://archive.4plebs.org/o/thread/15915240/#15916488

and Imo getting to lock as soon as possible is ideal, you can speed this up actually by dipping your speed at the start of the u-turn with your rearbrake and actually letting the bike "drop" into the lean angle (this is the basis of the so called "japanese" u-turn in motogymkhana) but you'll just get there eventually if you just practice the u-turn technique I've posted so don't worry about that.

I should just make a video tutorial or something.
>>
>>16893088
Its really just the foot forward controls, it makes it more difficult to shift your position the the seat, the clutch and torque are great. The couterwieghted slow turns are not so great.

nah I'm a euro
>>
Apparently this is the best that my camera can do.

Maybe I should try some other settings. Even fake 60fps.

Anyone knows what the fuck I should do to improve quality?
>>
>>16893667
Don't need 60fps, and don't interpolate it it'll look worse
>>
>>16893673
Okay?
So what the fuck do I need to do to have decent frames? Shorter shutter speed? How do I achieve that?

well, 60 fps could be better as the shutter speed would have to be at least 1/60 s as opposed to 1/30s max at 30fps.

What you should do it set the shutter speed up higher. If its dark your camera will automatically choose a long exposer and fast moving objects will be blurry.

or get a better helmet camera
>pic related
>>
>>16893695
>>16893702
The shutter speed doesn't change, just how often it operates.
There may be blur reduction options built in and faster shutter speed options, you'll get worse low light performance though I think
Also what camera? A lot of people here record at 30 I think with sj4000 or GoPros
>>
>>16893695
>Shorter shutter speed? How do I achieve that?
If you cant set te shutter speed manually your only choice is to film while its brighter or get a different camera.
But you will probably never get a clear picture if your camera is fixed and you ride fast.
Get someone to tale the pricture who "moves the camera on line with the bike" Dont know how to explain it better with my limited English vocabulary

like I said above >>16893702

If the camera maxes out the longest possible exposure times because it is dark, the longest possible exposure at 30fps is 1/30s while it is 1/60s at 60fps.
So under this circumstances (and only then of course) it might help a bit to change to 60 fps

Should I head out and pick up a pair of old cans for $750? I've got the Radian, and these would fit simply. However I can't help but feel that $700 is way too high for a pair of used mufflers. Heck slip ons for newer models are going for relatively cheap.
Is there a good site to check the fitment of other mufflers?
>>
>>16893702
>>16893741
I just got this SJ4000 so it will have to do for some time.
My 60fps mode is fake, it duplicates the frames artificially.
>>16893721
>>16893725
Will changing ISO or exposure help? They're set to auto and 0 respectively now.
>>
>>16893766
>Will changing ISO or exposure help?
More ISO = More light but more noise
Less exposure = Less light but less blurred moving objects
>>
>>16893784
What happens if I set a high iso and a low exposion then?

Try it
That's what he's telling you to do
>>
>>16893797
Depends on the light conditions.

If its a somehow dark photo you will need a lot of ISO and then you'll get a noisy af pic.

With good lighting thats the way to go for taking pics of moving objects.

That been said, the best way is to move the camera alongside the moving object. That way you get a well focused object with a blurred background. Like pic related.

That's why you want to talk him down. Unless it's currently in working order.
Rotary bikes are rare. Rotary parts vendors are pretty rare already. You're not going to make this into a daily bike. The bike had good reviews for it's time, but didn't sell very well, so Suzuki didn't keep making them.

It is a nice piece of motorcycle history, and you'll likely be the only guy for miles with a rotary bike. And if you got in with the doritos fanboys, you could be brapping and fireballing with the RX-7 crowd.

How old is too old?
I'm browsing through 600cc sports and most of it is imported stuff from 2000-2005 going for ~3-4k euroshekels, because apparently that's what sells on the slavlands.
Even if I wanted to shell out more, there's just little to pick from.
>>
>>16894711

Old bikes are perfectly usable as long as they're in decent condition.
