The problem with my BRZ is the torque dip between 2500-4500RPM which is daily driving territory. There's just no real acceleration until you hit 4500RPM. You basically hit peak torque right after you accelerate then you wait until 4500 to get back to peak torque. It's very noticeable.

Reason I bought a 370Z over a BRZ/GT86
- The engine. You don't want to drive at 100% all the time because there is no power. Better take an engine which runs at 60% most of the time and which you can push even further. The forums are full of engines blowing up due to running at 100% for prolonged time. Most important reason for me.
- The handling. At some point you realize that the handling of the BRZ only "feels" good, because it has a wide threshold before breakaway. Even if you drive shitty, you feel like driving at the limit. The 370Z is not about safety and subjective feeling, but about performance. If it breaks out, you failed.
- The 370Z is faster straight and in the corner, as mentioned, it is made for performance.

I bought a 2015 FRs for my wife. She likes it, but to me, the platform (a side from the suspension) is a total let down.

The 350z and S2k are/were still very superior platforms to drive or build off of. Owned a 350z and driven the S2k.

BRZ/FRS is a back seat version of a Miata IMHO. A supercharged edition would have been a real seller, like the EVO compared to a Lancer.
