Rust, rust and more rust.
Consider you are using an over 30 year old car as a DD that will be hard to hunt for parts in auto yards. Not even a domestic but an important, these things rusted away by the time the 90s came around. Fix what rust their is, and only drive it in the summer.

Don't bother. These things were primitive beyond belief. Shitty materials, bad fit and finish, and by now unless it has a second or third rebuilt engine it's going to pop every gasket and hose it has. The next gen civics are miles better.

There is sweet spot for beater Civics. Late 80s, early 90s ones. Modern enough to be good, old enough not to be bogged down in other shit.

It's in great condition, internally. Original everything, and it's all in great shape. Even the original head unit and speakers. As far as I can tell, it's just bodywork it needs.

Pic is the original color. I wanna basically get rid of the nasty red Tremclad, have a shop fix any rust, and slap on a fresh coat.

Make sure timing belt has been replaced or replace it if it hasnt, its has interference valves and will damage them when belt goes out. Happened to me and was my first car
