Why is maintenance and insurance high as fuck for European cars but cheap for Japanese cars?
>>16867824
because german engineering.
both statements are wrong
>>16867824
Only if you cuck yourself into dealer servicing
If you do shit yourself Euro cars should last longer as they generally have better build quality
Also, they don't rust out in like 6 months
> Litterally, we have a brand new 2000-something Corona that's been in a garage it's whole life
> got moved outside for a week
> rusting though the paint
>>16867870
Mazdas are pretty famous for rusting like hell.
>>16867824
Wow nice another meme thread. Kys
>>16867902
Mate, that's just surface rust
We have like 99% humidity here and it just fucks everything that's not super well gavinised
Jap crap only started being half decent in the last half decade or so
>>16867835
>audi made in hungary
>>16867915
Jap paint quality as gone down significantly in the last decade though.
>>16867915
It starts on the surface.
>>16867915
>Jap crap only started being half decent in the last half decade or so
So what you're saying is older cars are rustier than newer cars? Really makes you thinkā¦

I DD a 83 Volvo
Only rust is along the bottom of the rain gutters
My spare is a 88 Volvo, only rust is where water was trapped InThe space under the tail lights
Jap cars litterally rust fucken everywhere all the time

The problem rust is In between two layers of steel
Surface rust is fixable
>>16867824
>insurance
Is about the same.
>Maintenance
Availability of parts, cost of parts, and how long it takes to do.
Cletus learned how to swap an alternator on a civic by listening to a youtube video.
Sergei Kalini Ph.D. had to learn 3 different languages and study engineering for 25 years to be able to swap out the alternator on a golf.
Also what maintenance means. On a Toyota it means oil changes at least once every 10k. On a BMW it means inspecting/replacing bushings every 3k.
>>16867964
>Volkswagen Group
to make German machines more exclusive
>>16868065
>inspecting/replacing bushings every 3k
But that is false.
>>16867836
this.
>>16867824
>european cars
Even in entry level VW, you need extremely specific tools to even simple jobs
>Japanese cars
With just a 10mm and 12mm socket, you can completely disassemble a Civic.
>>16867824
>Part breaks on Japanese engine
>replace part
>Part breaks on European car
>have to take engine out of car to get at it
>>16867824
It's the opposite here. Especially German cars are cheap to insure here.
t. German
>>16868278
>>Part breaks on Japanese engine
>buy replacement for 150
>>Part breaks on European car
>buy replacement for 500
