If you do shit yourself Euro cars should last longer as they generally have better build quality

Also, they don't rust out in like 6 months

I DD a 83 Volvo
Only rust is along the bottom of the rain gutters
My spare is a 88 Volvo, only rust is where water was trapped InThe space under the tail lights

Sergei Kalini Ph.D. had to learn 3 different languages and study engineering for 25 years to be able to swap out the alternator on a golf.

Also what maintenance means. On a Toyota it means oil changes at least once every 10k. On a BMW it means inspecting/replacing bushings every 3k.
