>design your car to look like a sports car
>market it as a sports car
>make promotional videos to show how HEKTIK it is
>"B-but don't expect a sports car"
Justify this
Everyone complaining about a lack of power has obviously never had the pleasure of being able to throw a 2000lb car down a mountain road without having to worry about understeering to their doom.
The AE86 is awesome, the FT86 is awesome. If you're trying to set lap records, they're not your car. If you're trying to have a super fun, somewhat casual driving experience, they're the cars to have. I can't believe how hard of an idea that is for people to grasp.
>japanese modern top of the line sport car
>cant beat a mid 90s GM sedan
>>16865700
Just get a Miata then.
>>16865700
No one gives a shit when any modern 1/2 ton truck will beat you at the light.
>>16865941
I can get the limited slip diff in the Toyobaru 5 grand cheaper.
>>16865941
FRS/BRZ has a roof, small backseat, and bigger trunk.
Coming from a Miata fanboy btw
>>16865941
A Miata is a fine alternative but it's not the only choice.

>stoplight drag races
I can't see why that's important unless you're trying to get to your Grindr date as soon as possible.
>>16866023
He's right you know. I want to like it, I really do. The car handles well and the test drive was fun, but it has no balls.
>>16864243
This. Fuck people are retarded.
It's exactly the spiritual successor to the AE86
Cheap
Light
Underpowered
Fun
