Thinking of getting a miata as first car
would this one be a bad decision?

not any worse than the decision that ultimately led you to boards.4chan.org/o/
>>16851622
that would be a great decision
thats actually a great price. esp if it has no rust at all and runs well.
first thing I'd do is remove that ugly rack in the back and buy new fenders (then repaint them yellow to match the rest of the car)
its an NA6 meaning it has the 1.6 so it has the Short Nose Crank. Google it to figure out what that is.
but yeah all around it would make a perfect first car.
if you need more info check out miata.net or clubroadster as there is tons of information on those forums
Miats are good, the 1.6 can feel anemic. As a first car sure, you could probably even learn to work on it if you felt inclined, they are relatively simple and reliable
Only downside is lack of space, but if you're single (yes you are), it won't matter

was that thing originally blue?
>>16851810
not OP but it probably was originally blue damn shame.

Think it would be worth it to get it and get it a blue paint job?
>>16851667
what is the real difference between the 1.6 and 1.8?
i can never find a good 1.8 with low miles for under 5k
>>16851843
to get it back to mariner blue?
Yes it's worth it if you don't cheap out on it aka take it to macco.
If you want to respray it it's original color the right way it's going to cost you around the same price you bought your car for and I highly doubt you have that type of money.
this is what your car originally looked like.
