Hey /o/ so I'm planning on buying a used car. Most likely a Honda Civic or Accord, just something modest and cheap as a commuter. It will most like be no more than 4 years old, less than 40k miles.
Question is, are the certified pre-owned ones worth it compared to the ones that arent? I might do some uber/lyfting on the side, and I should also note that I won't have this car for more than 4 years.

Just fix your current car or get a civic for 3k. A newer one does nothing better.

Why don't you just lease one?

>leasing an economy car known for it's longevity
What's the fucking point? Leasing is for German cars that self destruct at 100k miles.

He said he was only planning to keep for a few years

An older one will last just as long if you fix it. And it'd cost less in the long run.

This is a meme, fixing takes time, and having to be fixed is an inconvenience. And as cliche as it sounds, time is money, amongst many other things.

I had a 92 Accord I replaced with a 2013 Accord as fixing the AC wasn't worth the price.

>buy civic for 2500-3k
>put 2k into over a few years
>spent less than 6k total

>spending 15k just so you don't have to spent 800 bucks
you dun goofed. but in reality that is a bit too old to make a good DD. a v6 accord for 7k would've been a better choice.

Buy Toyota, made in japan or a toyota made in japan for best results.

I don't know. I got a certified 2015 civic and still have 6 fucking years of powertrain warranty left.
