It is not legal in my state. I consider it rude/scumbag behavior since they slide between traffic rather than waiting like everyone else. I also worry I'll get sideswiped since I already had that happen with a motorcycle scraping the paint on my driver side door. I consider it on the same tier as the people who get in to turning lanes at red lights and quickly switch over into the main lane so they can avoid waiting behind other people.

But it makes literally no difference to you. In fact, they are even freeing up a car sized space for you when they do that. It cuts down congestion.

Perfectly legal in my country. What's the point of it being illegal? Just cager jealousy.

I was stationed in Japan and rode a Motorcycle. Split/filter is legal there and easily takes half or more of the travel time off compared to a car. It is also safer because you get freedom of movement and more responsibility to where you are. They also expect you to filter and get annoyed when you are taking the whole lane like you would in America.

I think it should be legal in the entire united states. at least when you have two lanes in the same direction and traffic is slowed, or you are approaching a red light/stop sign.

if we can't get more rail based mass transit put in to reduce USA's traffic problems. Then at least allow splitting/filtering, and encourage more people onto motorcycles.

Except it doesn't affect you at all whatsover, it they aren't cutting. Also you get to sit down in a comfy seat in a climate controlled car, can listen to music, without a uncomfortable helmet wresting on your head. You don't have to wear gear, and be sweating in the heat. I'd say it's a fair trade off. Legal where I live btw

>without a uncomfortable helmet wresting on your head

If your helmet is uncomfortable you either need to get fitted right or stop using budget helmets.

My helmet fits fine and is comfy, it's still a solid chunk of matter wrapped around your head, it's still more annoying than not wearing one, no matter how comfy it is.

Neither do you dumbass

Tbh if I'm at the front of the pack at the light I'll wave the motorcycle in front of me, it's illegal but personally I'd rather be the one following him as I know I'll pay attention as opposed to Jimmy's lifted brodozer

everything else I said still stands

Technically there is no law that directly refers to lane splitting in my state, but laws such as passing on the left, stradling lines, etc CAN be used if an officer wants.

I do it, i also use footpaths sometimes and i also regularly use bicycle lanes. I know what the repercussions are, and they're better than getting done for 5kmph over so im not about to stop anytime soon.

Part of it is a safety issue, drivers aren't very aware of their surroundings, the other is im a selfish prick on the road.

>people are literally afraid to drive BEHIND my truck
lol haha
