They had like 10 Mustangs for the film and only 1 had a working RB swap for beauty shots. All the rest had V8s. In fact, they found while filming one of scenes, they didn't have enough power. I think one of the stunt cars had a big block with over 450 cubic inches. just so they could film a few scenes.

It wasn't anything cutting-edge as far as swapping engines went but it was very much seen as a "Hollywood" thing in my high school, due to the rather silly reasoning that we should be swapping crate engines into the world.
