Looking for a pure comfy car to buy.
Want really good cup holders / center console area as my truck's plastic cup holders won't hold the newer designed 20 oz bottles of water or any larger bottles of water which is getting on my nerves while driving.
I'd like to stick with sedan or hatchback just because of crossover insurance premiums.
Probably stick with something 2005 or newer.
Budget is anything under 15k.
Probably get automatic so i'd like to avoid CVVT/DCT.
May look at manual but it's not a weekend car it's a grocery getting a-b comfort mobile.
Camry/Accord

Any specific model/year for best comfy feels?
Camry vs Accord debate too.

Camry is comfier and quieter.
Accord is funner to drive with tighter suspension for turning but noisier. Accord has better engines too.
Comes down to preference, but these 2 platforms are very ironed out. Get a 2008+ if you're getting an accord.

What about civic/corolla?
Just smaller versions of those but still sedan?

Corolla is more reliable and quieter, but seriously out of date. A 2003 Corolla has the same engine and transmission as a 2015 Corolla.
I think Corollas are fucking stupid because a recent Civic or Mazda3 is just as reliable but more modern with less compromises.

Price differences (Dont' know actual numbers)
Mazda3 vs Civic in 2008-2012 or so with ~90k miles.
Which would be a better choice for mpg/comfy/useful.
I only highway drive on the weekends but I assume a civic or mazda3 or even corolla shouldn't struggle there.

Basically this
The Corolla has't made any strides since around then, I honestly can't see why one wouldn't just buy a Camry, Civic, Mazda3 or Altima

Mazda3 hatch of 2nd gen (08-12) is probably the best option all around. The 2012 has the skyactive engines so basically the same engine as a 2017 Mazda3, which currently is the best engine in it's class for power and efficiency.
Mazda3 is the least comfy though and the noisiest cabin, it's the most fun to drive though.

Does the camry also use a CVT?
I've heard bad things about those and DCT. Has that changed? I read that hyundai and mazda still use regular 6 speed auto.
