Do I really need to fill my 2013 Acura ILX up with premium? It says "recommended" but not "required".
>2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder
>150 hp at 6,500 rpm
>140 lb-ft at 4,300 rpm
>10.6:1 compression ratio
pretty easy to make a simple test.
fill up with 93 and do a mpg check
and then do it for 87. compare the mpg and see if it is worth the "premium" for high octane

you know you could've gotten a g37 manuel for that much money right?
>>16814433
>g37 manuel
no hablo espanol jaja
>>16814413
recommended just means it will make its rated HP numbers only when it uses premium
regular will work fine
>>16814421
octane should make no difference in MPG assuming that the blends are otherwise identical in ethanol content
>>16814445
of course it does. more octane means more ignition advance.
>>16814460
more ignition advance does not mean better fuel mileage
it just means the car makes more power
>>16814463
ive noticed more mpg with ignition advance. can you prove this? id like to hear your source.
>>16814413
No. It's a Honda.

Civic Si requires premium.
