If I put two 2JZs together to make a V12 will I have the best engine on earth?
>>16797489
You would have an I12
>>16797489
You'd basically have a bored and stroked 1GZ-FE.
>>16797497
Not if they're mounted side by side
>>16797632
You'd need a custom crank and god knows what else to make it work.
>>16797489
You're not an engineer so stop acting like you are one.
i just googled double 2jz and some guy made a quad turbo one
I dont know if he actually finished and/or used it
>>16797650
You'd need a custom block.
>>16797686
nah brah my sick weldz can handle this
>>16797686
So it's not a 2JZ; it's a completely new engine made from scratch.
I vaguely remember seeing this done with two aussie 202 straight 6 motors
>made from scratch
>uses 2jz pistons, head (s) design elements etc
Right.

That thing is the worst sounding V12 ever made. Also sounded like it revved rather slow.
Would be a boring engine in comparison to other v12s

So /o/, what makes the 2JZ so legendary? It's mentioned all the time but I don't know anything about it and I'm trying to learn more about engines.
>>16797489
someone already did this. made a 120 v-angle crankcase and bolted on 2 cut down JZ blocks

It was in the hero car from Fast and the Furious. Also, it's popular for dyno queen 10 gorillion horsepower builds.
>>16799398
I remember the Supra resotration from Fast and Furious, but is that really all that's made it so popular? Did Fast and Furious make it a meme like Initial D did with the AE86?
>>16799374
I'm no JZ expert but my understanding is they were overbuilt and had all forged internals out of the factory so you could run high boost and get big HP with a relatively small number of modifications. This made them popular with automotive modification enthusiasts and because of this popularity a huge aftermarket exists for them which is always a recipe for continuing success in the motoring world.
