there is nobody on the planet too short to ride a 250 sportbike.

If you're over 5'10 you're basically already out of the design parameters for this thing, at 6'2 I just feel stupid on one.

Changed my oil in my bike for the first time yesterday. Filled it to the middle of the fill window, and it quickly went down and disappeared below it. Let it run for 5 minutes, then filled it back to the line. Let it run, and it disappeared again. Filled it to the line. Left it overnight, and now it's below the line again. No leaks anywhere. Should I stop filling it to the line and just leave it?

It's a decent dual sport. It's long lasting. It does pretty well both on road and off. It's obviously a little heavier than "pure" dirt bikes but if you can manage manage the weight you probably won't have a whole lot of complaints in that department. I actually really like its suspension.
$2700 sounds like too much for an 01. The 03+ got better forks and shock and a cam chain tensioner that won't fail.

i gave my variant away, for a few reasons.
the visor adds a shitload of drag compared to most visored helmets and its fuckheug, which amplifies its shit aero if you try to look around.
its also pretty damn loud in all areas.
my arai has about half the drag, less than half the noise and is pretty nice all around but still pulls when looking around due to the pointed nose.
however on anything with a windshield that throws air over your head this is most irrelevant
>>
>>16766636
looks clean for an 01, I'd go test ride it.

I like my variant so far, had my bike up to 120mph earlier with it on and didn't notice anything that felt weird as far as drag goes but that being said I have a zero gravity double bubble on my bike and it throws the wind above my head. Just reposting for a little more advice, cheers to anons who help.

About to buy a 1991 CBR250RR (MC22). It's done 70,000km (not miles).
Owner says the previous owner pulled it apart and freshened it up, but isn't too clear on specifics. Has done all his own maintenance.

Obviously, I'll replace all fluids, tyres, etc., but should I be wary of the engine blowing up any time soon? Should I do valve checks, etc. immediately? How often to engine bearings/rings/etc need replacement?

halp, /dbt/

probably not, very reliable bikes, gear driven cams, weren't cheap in their day, well engineered.

I would

when you check it out, check if it starts while cold with no choke, because a good MC22 that is runningly nicely and all set up will

Probably, but they're all built pretty strong. Never had any experiences or known anyone to damage a dirt bike other than bending the bars or a rim.

What are you saying? The DR-Z comes with a year warranty by the way, not that it is relevant.
I'd trust a racer to maintain a bike far more than I would trust average joe who buys a dual sport to do wheelies around town.

My bike fell off its stand in the garage. Near new ducati. OEM fairings and everything damaged will be at least 4,000. Do I tell insurance it fell on the street? In the garage? Do I act like a car hit it when I wasn't there?
>>
>>16767388
Miles is irrelevant in a bike this age for two reasons. One is that you can unplug the speedo cable, the other is that it's 30 or 40 years old, if something was going to let go by a mileage it would have. At this age all rubber is fucked, all plastic is brittle and at this price a bone needs more work than you think it will

A lot of people on here recommended dust to glory, and I mean it's nice footage and stuff but the editing and structure of the documentary is kind of bizarre, it starts the race in like the first few minutes then gives us the rider backstories later instead of letting us soak into their lives before they get thrown into the blender first.

this wouldn't be a problem if they weren't also trying to split the difference between straight documentary and docudrama at other points.

Very jumbled.

You could probably fiberglass, bondo, sand, and rattlecan or colorite it for less than the decuctible+rate hike will cost you, but if you're going to redo everything because you lack the skills to match an OEM pattern/line up the decals and can't find a painter who'll do it for less than insurance, make sure you ask your agent about how aftermarket paint, if only low value shit, would affect your rates and eligibility WITHOUT MENTIONING THE DAMAGE

No audio but the fuckwit beeped me when I didn't block his path at all then tried to glare at me as he drove past.

Also, why didn't you cunts tell me to chin mount my gopro earlier :^) side mount a shit

if you're gonna turn left while filtering move over and get right in front of the vehicle so it's apparent what you're doing, you don't turn from the middle "lane" so to speak, then you have the added benefit of leaving the middle free for another bike to come up.

and for the love of god, build up a thicker skin and don't antagonize the vehicles in return, no positives come from escalation just ignore them.

At no point was he cut off at all. He turned into the left lane, I turned into the right lane.

I was already a car length ahead of him before he started moving so that pic is actually (you).

>>16768400

I was indicating left and the driver had his window down. He knew I was there and what I was doing. He just had a small dick and didn't like being 'beaten' on the road.
>>
>>16768421
>He knew I was there and what I was doing

I fucking doubt that, it would require car drivers to be attentive which you know they aren't, getting out in front of the actual lane leaves no confusion and is a better idea because if there was a pedestrian crossing you may have obstructed the car turning right on the other side.
>>
>>16768425

>I fucking doubt that

Because you were there right? Oh wait, you weren't.

> getting out in front of the actual lane leaves no confusion

Watch the video you dumb cunt. The light went green just as I hit the white line.

The driver fucking knew I was there and what I was doing. He just got bent out of shape I went ahead of him.

Also, you fucking moron, crossing the white line is illegal so no, I'm not going to be 'pulling ahead'.

>you may have obstructed the car turning right on the other side.

Ok you're just confirming you're blind. The cars on the right weren't obstructed by me at all. I go through this intersection literally every single day even on weekends.

And if a pedestrian was crossing they would have crossed with the pedestrian light being red.

Sup /dbt/, got a question here.
I'm like 172 tall and for the time I've had experience with motorcycle I've only ridden my Grom. I do like it a lot, but recently I've been thinking about 600.
Found a nice R6 2007 and the deal is just perfect, but I'm a bit worried about my height.
I've never been on one (even just to sit on it) and I'm worried I can both step on the ground even if I tiptoe.
Any rider here with the same height give me an advise and share some experience ?

P.s I'm not into lowering the bike, so that's not a solution
>>
>>16768579
172 is ideal heigh for an r6, you'll be fine
>>
>>16768579
you should be fine. if needs be I'm sure you can adjust or replace the suspension to accommodate your height.
>>
>>16768592
A friend of mine who is experienced rider told me that the R6 got on of the highest sitting positions of all 600cc bikes, but the CBR is just not as sexy to me, and I wont race it anyway. I just want to hit the local twisties when the weekend comes.

nothing wrong with starting on one as long as it's used and as long as you actually learn something while you're on it.

You buy a nice shit used 250 or 300, ride the dick off it, learn a thing or two. Good stuff.

Buy a new R3, never ride it, crash it like a tard, detrip from shame then move on having never learned to ride like keeno? doing it wrong .

I recommend to start on something like a 500/650 naked. (sv500-650, cb650f, er6n-f, mt07 and the likes) Their faired variants with clipons are fine as well.

Very docile and hard to fuckup in the beginning, enough power to keep you satisfied for several years while you learn.

That part is fine with me. 125 until you're 18 is fine, it's just that when you're 18 you are legally allowed to drive any sportscar, be it lambo, ferrari, idfk I don't care about cars. But you still can't even hop on an R6 or CBR600RR even if you rode a 125 for 2 years. And if you want the A licence, to be able to ride anything, you have to take A1 at 16, A2 at 18 and then A at 20. And for the tards who start on literbikes, they have to be 24, which, I guess, is a good thing

Do your studies before going and you'll be fine.
Try various helmets on and keep them on for 20 minutes to see if they really fit. Remember you can swap liners and padders, the faggot clerck of the the store I went to didn't let me to. You can order models they don't have in store.

So what makes it different? Overlap in i4's exhaust? Ir is it more due to 125cc being silent 3/4 of the time? (Pic. related).

Wouldn't a muffler that smooths out the 125cc's exhaust make it sound exactly like i4?
