GT86 is fast as fuck, I bought one (well actually I went for the BRZ) only a week after test driving it. That means it gets a 11:1 compression ratio by adding just 2mm

A metal plate with somewhat ok surface and proper headgaskets won´t leak compression, because it is basicly like the other mating surfaces.
