I got a question, my brakes got super stiff the other day. I originally thought it was just a bad brake booster but upon further inspection there was a gash in a vacuum hose/line going from the break booster to the engine so I patched it up but my brakes didn't get any softer. Did I just do a really shitty job at patching it or will a small crack make me lose all of the power in my brakes?
You couldn't just spring the 20 bucks absolute max for a new hose? Also, barring that, check and make sure your check valve isn't stuck.

I bought a new hose I'm just waiting on to arrive in the mail, and I haven't checked the valve yet, thanks for the suggestion.

I ran the engine and the petal remained as stiff as it was before, oppose to when it drops a couple inches on startup when working properly.

I'd say wait until you can install your new hose, checking the valve in the mEan time as I said before. Such stiffness other that a broken line would be accompanied by other symptoms. My f150 blew a booster diaphragm and had the same symptoms but had a nasty hiss with any more than 1/8th brake travel.
