watching cars whirr quietly around a track is way more boring than watching them shriek around a track powered by exploding dinosaur blood. Watching racing is supposed to be engaging and visceral, a huge part of that is hearing the glorious roar of race cars. E racing is boring.

Also, tesla hasn't made a car yet that wouldn't melt the fuck down trying to complete a race, and they won't any time soon.
