Phenomenal grip, treadwear is yet to be decided. However, I wouldn't be surprised if I burn through them in less than 20k (about 8k on them so far) because I tend do drive them very hard.

Yep, that's why I want 'em. The Sport Comp-2's have been nice, but there's too much torque going to the wheels for them to maintain grip. I'm hoping when I make the switch it's a bit better.

Those were my second pick but they cost a bit more and a lower tread rating.

I have those too. Great tires, but it's been about 15k miles and the rears already need to be replaced and the fronts are at 50%. I have staggered wheels so I can't rotate them front to back.

Some generic all seasons for spring, summer, and fall, and right now for winter I have Blizzak WS-80s on. They're fucking amazing and if anyone living in an area with harsh winters is on the fence about shelling out for a set of snow tires, they are 100% worth it.
>tfw in the left lane safely passing dozens of SUVs, crossovers, and trucks going slow trying not to die in the right lane
>tfw going through curves at 55+ mph on compacted snow and ice and people are looking over in awe at the faggot in the econobox passing them with ease
>tfw I get the entire lane to myself for the whole commute because it's iced over and only the right lane is cleared

These are one of the best investments I have ever made. I'm assuming the X-Ice tires from Michelin are just as good, and Nokian Hakkapeliitas are supposed to be the best money can buy for a winter tire. A lot of my coworkers also have Hankook tires and say they're great in the winter.

Continential Pure Contacts on the car. But they hydroplaned on the concrete freeway ruts and were scary. The ruts are deep due to all the studded winter tires wearing the ruts deeper each winter. Water collects in the ruts during a rain and it doesn't always run off to the sides of the road.

>im buying a wet of wheels to replace my rashed up stock ones
Why can't you take a piece of smooth metal and burnish the rashed lip? The key is to use pressure burnishing instead of sanding away the roughness.

After burnishing, it will still be rough, but at least there is a lot less to sand. Then for the finish, if the rest of the rim is matte, then use fine grit sandpaper to make matte finish. Or if shiny, then use rough cloth over a wooden form to buff the aluminum alloy to a shine.
>>
>>16747747
>>16746363
It's possible to get rid of a lot of the rash discoloration by rubbing the rashed edge firmly with a piece of smooth metal. Just use a toothbrush and cleaner to brush the dirt and grime off before you do the rubbing.

Decent tires, gotta say. The hospice-service I worked at had their Fords equipped with them, and I never felt like I lacked any traction

>>16746363
I really want to try out a set of the type of all-seasons a lot of people here go "works good in snow" about, seeing how they would cope with my terrains and surfaces

Currently have MPSS on but they are at less than 2/32" tread depth. They have a 30,000 mile warranty on them and I only got 22,000 miles out of mine. Discount tire gave me $40 per tire to put towards a new set of tires. I bought a set of Potenza S-04's to go on next and will probably get them installed in the next week.

Pilot Sport AS/3
>>

Should I sell my stock Pilot Sport A/S 3's and get some super grippy summer tires, or should I just melt them over the next 10,000km?
>>
>>16734590
I can't wait to throw these on my car. The real question is whether to go 205/45/17 or 205/50/16.
>>
>>16734706
i got p zeros on my mx5, in the UK too. they're ok but i'll probably go for MPSS or contiwhatever next time

205/75-15 general grabber at2 on my '56 bug

swapping to some 185/65-14's on my civic soon so i can inna desert
>>
>>16752958
I'm real happy with the AS/3's. Summer is coming soon though so there really isn't a reason for all seasons. If you're gonna burn through tires in the summer/fall I'd upgrade. If not stay stock.
>>
Nitto Nt555 G2's

I commonly refer to them as Shitto's. I hate these tires. They are fun to drift on, but thats because they don't fucking grip. My 135hp 240 breaks them loose in 2nd and they are 245's :|
>>
>>16746354
Then why aren't you using summer tires.

DD has cumhos which I'm very happy with considering the price.
>>
I've got Blizzaks on my Mustang right now which I'll leave on for at least a few more weeks.
If I don't have them on I get absolutely zero traction if there's even the slightest bit of snow. Now I can pretty much go anywhere and not worry about sliding or getting stuck.

One of the best car investments I've ever made.
>>
>>16754573
>One of the best car investments I've ever made.

There's still lots of people who don't believe in good studless winter tires. Studs do work, but they tear the roads up and make ruts in the freeways.

Cheap 60$ for 4 winter tires I dont even know the brand.

American cars in depreciating free fall
Last time I was in TO, Hertz gave me a TownCar it was a very comfortable way to spend 4 hours stuck on the 401. It was like driving a cheap leather couch form one of those don`t pay till 2028 furnished places. nice car for a halal taxi or rental but why would anyone ever buy one.

i imagine GMs Cataract CTS and the rest of the line is the same

As a Canuck I`ll continue to trust Toyota, BMW' VW and Audi. living on the west coast I grew up with Volvo 240s and Saab 900s and saw the brands turn to shit with American ownership. Will never own an American car again.
if my VW needs $900 in repairs it is because it costs a bit for good parts
if a ford costs $900 on repairs it is because the mechanic spends 3 hours scratching his nuts wondering why neither 5/16 or 3/8 fits
>A year after rolling off the lot, a 2014 CTS that started at just over $45,000 was worth 36.9% less.

>>
>>16732570
>They're great but they're getting the shit kicked out of them on these shitty Bay Area streets.
Then why couldn't you get them without that razor thin profile? Those tires are probably less than the depth of 2 or 3 extra deep potholes I've seen. You would have rimmed those potholes.
>>
>>16760030
The sidewall doesn't matter in the case where the tire is close to the edge of the pothole. The edge can scrape the side of the rim either going down or coming up out of the hole. The tire doesn't need to bottom out.
>>
potenza re760 sport. was going to get some hankook evo v2 but felt like potenza is more worth.

good enough for daily and some autox/track here and there. Until i can afford a set of new wheels with re11
>>
>>16761714
Then fucking avoid it like a decent driver
Also those Sumo's have the lip for rim protection
>>
>>16735741
>>16734590
hmm interesting i might pick up a set. $116 per tire on tirerack in my size
>>
>>16734590
Honestly I thought these were meme tires when I saw them on the top rated on TireRack, but with it's great performance for only $450 a set, I'll have to get a set.
>>
>>16761899
B.b.but don't you want longevity of tires instead? Get some tires that are rated to last 1,000,000,000 miles. They have almost no friction with the road and thus never wear out.
>>
>>16756178
>Stock wheels and stock wheel sizes.
Why would you do this anon
C5 wheels bolt right on, look great, but are wider.

Also I'm running BFG Sport Comp 2's on the back and Toyo Proxes All seasons of some sort at the front, I didn't buy them.
>>
I got some prices r888 currently on my stage 2 GTI, but I've been thinking about going g-force comp 2a/s
Should I or can someone recommend some great tires for all season tracks?
>>
>>16762634
>All season track tires
This isn't a thing
Get the R888's for the track and the BFG's for the street

He'll slide sideways and then roll over. It only takes for one side to have strong grip and the other to have very weak grip to get a rolling force going when he's so high up.
