I get that roundabouts help with the flow of traffic, but their adoption in the US has been so slow that people have no idea how to use them after decades of stop signs and lights. Hell, even I don't know who has the right of way most of the time and I'm a really careful driver. I once saw a guy try to go directly left through a roundabout instead of driving around like normal. Almost caused 3 head on collisions and caused the whole thing to back up with people honking and freaking out. The guy just seemed really confused and agitated and threw up his hands before he kept driving. It was pretty stupid of him to drive directly left since he had to angle his truck awkwardly to pull up to the yield sign, but I can't blame him for having no idea what to do. I was born and raised in the suburban south, where roundabouts are like bigfoot. Some people claim to have seen one, but most aren't sure if they're real. One summer when I was 16 my family went up to Canada for a trip and we came up on a roundabout while I was driving because my dad was tired. I watched the traffic for about 20-30 seconds as we were waiting our turn and I recognized the pattern the other drivers were doing. I drove through it with zero problem, having never seen one IRL and having zero formal instruction on them.

Roundabouts are not a difficult concept, the general public is just chock full of morons. Keep in mind I had been driving on public roads for like two months when this happened and I had no problem with it, but there are 40 year olds who are too stupid to figure it out.

- When people try to cut into the queue I don't let them in, especially if they end up fucking themselves by waiting til the very end to merge and block traffic so everyone else will hate them
- In stop and go traffic, I will set the speed of the lane, Especially carpool lane.
e.g., instead of going up to 20 then stopping for 5 seconds and repeating, I will go a solid 12mph, never stopping, with slight modulations to keep the lane moving.
Blaring horns don't push me from the path of justice
- Close merging gaps in carpool lane when people try to get in to beat traffic (outside of designated merging points_
Bonus justice if you get them stuck behind the traffic so they can't merge in at all from traffic speed.

Yesterday I did an experiment where I pretended to be doing my driving test again. i.e. made an effort to drive as conformant to road regulations as possible. I shoulder checked all the fucking time, I drove at EXACTLY the speed limit (as in, speedo needle right on the number) and drove as defensively as possible.
And to be honest, it was very relaxing. I wasn't even much slower than I would have been if I'd been speeding like I usually do: average speed went down to around 58 km/h from 65, so after an hour of driving like this I had driven 7 km less, which means I'd have gotten to my destination a whole (7 km / 58 km/h) * 60 min/h = 7 and a quarter minute later, You can get that kind of deviation just by being held up at a couple of stoplights so not too bad.
