Help me out /o/, I'm a hypernoob when it comes to this.
I'm just about to buy a used Honda Accord like in the picture (2009, 2.0 156 HP, 65k km, 2 years warranty from the dealer, winter+summer tires). Already did a testdrive, and everything was completely fine. When I looked under it, all plastic parts looked as good as new, but in some places there was some rust there that looked rather superficial, but still.
Is it normal for an almost eight year old car to have a little rust on it, or is that a red flag?
The dealer's statement to this was that they don't experience rust issues on their Hondas, and a little rust is to be expected on a car after several years, but the rust won't become an issue before the car has reached the end of it's life anyways.
Bullshit, or sensible?
Sensible
By the way that Honda accord looks like a 2009 acura tsx is the usa.
That picture is really bugging me

Because it is.
Acura has been selling the Euro- accord as an Acura for like a decade in the NA market
Where are you buying it from? Some random dealer or a Honda Authorized Dealerâ„¢?
Where is the rust? It wouldn't be weird for a 2017 car to have rusted brake rotors. It would be bad if a 2009 car had rust along the undercarriage and the suspension.
