After living in West Texas having to drive long, straight stretches of road between towns, I now understand why so many people have pickups and muscle cars.
What regional automotive realizations have you had?

that makes me want to kill myself
thats a regional realization I made
muscle cars and pickups would be shit on that too
>>16688658
I'm sure it's wonderful where you live

>trucks
The roads out here aren't the smoothest, and you want to be higher off the ground because you never know when a tumbleweed might blow by or god know's what else. Plus, there are a lot of caliche roads out here, and your Prius sure as hell isn't going to be able to take a thorn.
>muscle cars
It's all about straight-line speed. With so many long, straight roads, you need something help keep you feeling alive when you're driving straight for a hundred miles or more

>live in aus
>have some 4banger
>start driving long highways a bit more
>buy a v8 vy
>realise that v8 really isn't a meme and ls1 isn't actually overrated

>trucks
Yep. You want a good ride because the road sucks and good sound insulation because the surface is coarse which makes for a loud roaring. Modern trucks do both very well.
>muscle
Straight line power and long legs are preferred here. You don't want to be rowing the box like a slave. Manuals are ok in this role I suppose but IMO it's better to just mash the pedal and go with an automatic.
